Top Stacks 6/26 ⚾️🎇
PHI at LHP Zach Thornton 4.8 runs: The Phillies had three comeback wins in Washington and are riding high heading into a matchup against the rookie southpaw. It is favorable weather tonight, with a breeze to right that should help LHBs Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper and Brandon Marsh, who all can hold their own against fellow lefties. The #LOLMets fired manager Carlos Mendoza this morning, with Andy Green taking over as the interim leader.
MIN vs RHP Tomoyuki Sugano 5.2 runs: The 36yo has below average Ks, above average walks and no out pitch. He has a knack for avoiding spectacular mound meltdowns, though every start is an adventure, even those away from Coors Field. Mix and match the Twins for salary relief, aside from the rightfully spendy Byron Buxton who is a desirable luxury option.
TBR vs RHP Zac Gallen 4.7 runs: Strikeouts have abandoned Gallen, who has dropped from a 21.5% K-rate last year to a woeful 14.3% this season. He has also had challenges with lefty power in this stretch, with righties getting in on the fun this season. The trio at the top in Yandy Diaz, Junior Caminero and Jonathan Aranda are the foundational plays, with LHBs Richie Palacios, Chandler Simpson and Chris Mullin in the mix, even though they are masquerading as the heart of the order.
BAL vs LHP Andrew Alvarez 4.9 runs: There is elevated humidity in Baltimore for tonight's installment of the Beltway Series, with Alvarez likely to face a never-ending wave of RHBs. He has been solid, though unlikely to go much more than 4 innings and the Nats bullpen was decimated by Philly this week.
Pitchers 6/26 ⚾️💪
Jacob Misiorowski vs CHC 3.1 runs: Even with his lofty salary, Misiorowski is in the "optimal" lineup on both DK and FD. He leads the league in Ks, WHIP, ERA, ERA+, FIP and pretty much every XXX fastballs in XXX situation. Tonight will be his 30th career start and the projected lineup for the Cubs has a .157/.224/.214 triple-slash line with 26 Ks in 70 ABs, accompanied by two XBHs against the young fireballer.
Zack Wheeler at NYM 3.8 runs: The Ks are back in Wheeler's game as he now is averaging a tick over one per inning. He is back in his hold stomping grounds, though the #LOLMets do have Francisco Lindor back. Wheeler is a tournament pivot off Misiorowski with only a quarter of the rostership.
Roki Sasaki at SDP 3.6 runs: In his last 8 starts, Sasaki has a 3.97 ERA, 3.46 xERA and a 3.37 xFIP, ceding 20 ERs in 45.1 IP. Ten of those runs have occurred in the last two games, though he gets a park upgrade tonight and the Friars have scored the fewest runs in the league. The expected lineup has four high strikeout candidates (HKCs), giving potential upside to Sasaki, with the win bonus also in play.
Taj Bradley vs COL 4.4 runs: Bradley is a DK SP2 salary saver, though not without potential disappointment, even against the Rockies. In his six starts since an IL turn with an inflamed pectoral muscle, Bradley has 32 Ks in 29.2 IP, though the 15 BBs and 7 HRs have been problematic. The active COL lineup has a bottom-five 93 wRC+ at home, though they are a little above average on the road (102) and against RHPs (103).
JT Ginn at LAA 4.3 runs: In his last 18 road starts, Ginn has a 9.6 K/9 rate with a .192 BAA, 54.5 GB% and only 24 XBHs in 83.2 IP.
