Top Stacks 6/28 ⚾️🎇
BAL vs RHP Zack Littell 5.2 runs: While there is a "k" in his name, there are none in his game with the MLB nomad posting a career-low 14.0 K% while allowing 21 HRs, which is the second most in the league this season. LHBs have gotten him for an absurd .344 ISO, so that should be the focus of O's stacks, along with RHBs Taylor Ward and Pete Alonso. Sometimes it is that simple.
MIA at STL: Each side is pushing towards a 5-run team total and while RHPs Tyler Phillips and Kyle Leahy will try to lean into their ground ball strengths, temperatures will be in the low-90s with elevated humidity, with a 10-12mph to left. Start with the LHBs from both sides first, with any RHBs on the top half of the lineup card secondary targets.
MIN vs RHP Ryan Feltner 4.8 runs: Feltner's strikeout rate it at a career-low, while his walk rat is at a three-year high. Look to the top-four Twins, with Brooks Lee an honorable mention from the latter portion of the lineup.
PHI at LHP Cionel Perez 4.4 runs: Perez is likely to pitch two innings, then give way to recently demoted RHPs Kodai Senga and/or Tobias Myers. Kyle Schwarber, Bryce Harper and Brandon Marsh can survive against fellow lefties and then thrive on the disappointing Senga. They are best employed as one-offs or duos for some home run hunting. Trea Turner, Alec Bohm and Bryson Stott are ridiculously cheap on FD, making a full-stack more appealing on the blue site.
Pitchers 6/28 ⚾️💪
Jesus Luzardo at NYM 3.8 runs: It is going to be warm and humid at CitField, though Luzardo still profiles as one of the stronger DFS candidates on this sizable 11-game featured slate. Francisco Lindor returned to action on Wednesday, though he is still looking for his first XBH against a southpaw (29 ABs). The #LOLMets are still without several key hitters in this abomination of a season. Luzardo has a hefty nine walks and eight runs in his last three starts. Of course he also has a wicked 30 strikeouts in these 19.1 frames, which is what DFS gamers find appealing.
Hunter Brown at DET 3.9 runs: This will be the third start for Brown after missing six weeks with a shoulder strain. He logged 92 and 85 pitches, completing 5.2 and 3 innings vs DET and @TOR. Command has been a bit of challenge with 5 BBs in this stretch, though he does have 11 Ks, ceding one home run as the only XBH in this stretch. While he has a heft 5-figure salary on DK and FD, there should be enough cheap hitters popping up in Sunday lineups to help offset some of the risk that he doesn't quite "pay off" his cap hit.
Brandon Woodruff vs CHC 3.7 runs: After missing six weeks with shoulder inflammation, Woodruff was sublime @CIN, striking out 10 on 79 pitches. We should not expect that outcome this afternoon, but he should be good for a mid-80s workload and DFS relevance if he can mitigate the top half of the Chicago lineup.
There is a 10-12mph breeze in from right @CLE with RHPs Gavin Williams and Emerson Hancock looking good for tournaments. Similarly Drew Rasmussen is appealing against a top-heavy ARZ lineup, though he is going to have to work for his strikeouts.
