MLB DFS Top Stacks & Top Pitchers: July 25, 2026
Eric MacPherson is back with his daily card, breaking down the hitting stacks and starting pitchers he's targeting on this slate. Take his picks into the Stokastic MLB Sims and build by win probability across thousands of simulated contests.
EARLY Top Stacks 7/25 โพ๏ธ๐
WAS vs RHP Mitch Bratt 5.1 runs: This has been a wild season for the Nats who lead the league in runs, HRs, total bases, RBI and SBs, among other categories. Bratt is a low-end prospect who is best used as a reliever. Control and location is his hallmark, though with no out pitch and nominal velocity, expect walks to be an issue once he gives up hard contact and starts nibbling at the edges. The top-6 are all in play from Washington.
MIA vs LHP JP Sears 4.4 runs: A late bloomer who was drafted in 2017 after three years at The Citadel, not making it to The Show until 2022 when he was 26yo. Sears is not as bad as our collective memory believes, but he is not good either. Look to any RHBs in the top-5, though be aware that Javier Sanoja and Esteury Ruiz are pinch-hit risks when a RHP enters the fray.
SFG vs RHP Ryan Johnson 4.8 runs: The soon to be 24yo is an interesting pitcher with deception and also above average velocity. The unique delivery is a surprise for hitters the first time the see it, but at the top level that will not last multiple times through the order. The top-7 all have merit from the Giants on this abbreviated slate.
LAA at LHP Robbie Ray 4.8 runs: Direct leverage against the Ray-llor Coaster is fun, particularly with the shallow player pool. The Halos have ample RHB power and are a great source of one-offs and mini-stacks, with the bold likely finding some uniqueness with full-stacks.
EARLY Pitchers 7/25 โพ๏ธ ๐๏ธ
Dylan Cease at BOS 3.7 runs: After falling shy of the 15-game franchise winning streak, the BoSox began a new one yesterday. Cease is on pace for his best strikeout season and while his walks (3.9/9 IP) are higher than we would like to see, the career-low 0.60 HRs / 9 IP is sterling and his advanced rates support the pristine 2.67 ERA. It will not be a walk in the park at Fenway this afternoon, though as a bucks-deluxe option, the warhorse should come through.
Eury Perez vs SDP 3.8 runs: Perez has 26+ DKFPs in 5 of his last 7 games, with 30+ in 2 of the most recent 3 appearances. The Padres are 3-5 since the ASG and there are five teams ahead of them for the final WC slot. Though the offense has picked up over the last month, Perez is capable of making his own magic at the plate and 7-8 Ks can erase a couple of "Ernies" without much trouble.
Foster Griffin vs ARZ 4.2 runs: The Cinderella season continues for Griffin, who earned his first ASG accolades after spending the last three seasons in Japan. Everyone after Cease has major question marks and with Griffin it is how long will this special season continue. He should at least be good for 95 pitches and with the backing of his offense, the win bonus is very much in play, with anything over 5 Ks icing on the cake.
Sonny Gray has lost his strikeout touch and TOR is stingy, though he should at least post positive DFS production. Robbie Ray is facing a RHB-heavy LAA squad, but he is always a GPP lottery ticket.
Top Stacks 7/25โพ๏ธ๐
MIN vs RHP Mason Barnett 5.8 runs: Barnett has plus stuff, he just lacks consistent location, which will lead to a bullpen role once any of the injured starters return. In the meantime, unless someone is called up, there is only one fresh southpaw in the A's pen after Barnett works a couple frames. The top-7 is all in play, providing a variety of salary level options and positional eligibility.
MIL vs RHP Ryan Feltner 5.4 runs: The Brew Crew disappointed during Friday's matinee against RHP Tomoyuki Sugano, though this is a get right spot with Feltner posting career worsts with his K%, BB% and HR rate. He has 3+ walks in 4 of his last 6 starts and the LHBs along with righties William Contreras and Jackson Chourio are all popping on the dashboard.
NYY at RHP Brian Keller 4.9 runs: Expectations are that 32yo Keller will be starting or serving as the "bulk" option as he makes his MLB debut. He was drafted back in 2017 and has bounced around through multiple organizations and the NPB where he last saw action prior to this year in 2022, after undergoing Tommy John surgery. H/T to the perseverance, but we should bo loading up on the power bats from the Yanks.
RHPs Bryce Elder and Brandon Young are squaring off in Camden Yards this evening and while both are survivors, they are also susceptible to mound meltdowns. Let personal preference be your guide, but be sure to have representation from both teams in your tournament portfolio tonight if you are crafting north of a dozen lineups.
Pitchers 7/25 โพ๏ธ ๐
Yoshinobu Yamamoto at NYM 4.2 runs: Juan Soto (calf) left last night's game and his absence drops that #LOLMets down two levels. Yamamoto has been dialed in over the last three games, racking up 23 Ks in 22 IP, even with a 6-run mound meltdown against the D'Backs just before the ASB. While he is far from a "must" in tournaments, he is the "safest" option.
Hunter Greene at STL 4.2 runs: Strikeouts are Greene's calling card and the oft-injured ace has 26 in his 16.1 IP this season. The Redbirds make opposing pitchers work for their Ks, but the bottom of the order is pretty shaky, creating potential DFS upside.
Nathan Eovaldi vs SEA 3.9 runs: The M's have scored the second fewest runs in the league this season and it would not be a surprise if they fall into last place during the next week. While the team sets up better against RHPs and gets a boost outside of T-Mobile Park, Eovaldi should be able to hold his own tonight.
Paul Skenes vs CHC 3.6 runs: Though he does not seem as dominant as his first season and change, Skenes 2.76 xERA, 2.81 FIP and 3.14 xFIP are in line with his first two campaigns. He has been unlucky with his 68.1 LOB%, but otherwise the production is in line everywhere else. Four of the top five Cubbies on the lineup card have a 24+ K% against RHPs this season, though the rest of the roster is sub-20%.
Bryan Woo at TEX 3.8 runs: It would be better if Woo was at home, but he is a viable tournament target.
