Pitchers 8/10 ⚾️💪
Reid Detmers vs TEX 4.4 runs: In the non-Tarik Skubal category, we have some fun tournament decisions tonight. Home runs have been worrisome for Detmers, who has allowed 10 in his last 7 starts across 35 IP, "fortunately" he has just 18 ERs, so his stellar 46 Ks in this period have actually provided DFS value. The Rangers are projected to have 6-7 high-strikeout candidates (HKCs) on the lineup card tonight.
MacKenzie Gore at LAA 4.0 runs: Similar to Detmers, Gore has a strong strikeout matchup with at least 6-7 HKCs in the expected lineup for the Halos. The mercury is slated to be around 80 for most of this game and there is a favorable 7-10mph breeze to center, though both pitchers are more than capable of taking care of business at the plate, with the cost ideally being no more than solo shots.
Logan Henderson at SDP 3.6 runs: Henderson is only $500 cheaper than Skubal on DK and $1,000 on FD, though his projected popularity is a fraction of the two-time reigning AL Cy Young Award winner. There are not many appealing hitters to take against Skubal, but just rostering someone else at a similar salary with DFS upside is another form of leverage. Henderson has 23+ DKFPs in 6 of his last 9 outings, while Skubal has four. Of course the ceiling is far higher for the new Dodger as he has three games with 34+ DKFPs in this stretch.
The DK SP2 contenders tonight are RHP Dean Kremer in a "Remember Me?!" spot against the Batters of Birdland, while RHP Christian Scott faces a surging Atlanta offense that is back to full health. Be aware that RHP Michael Soroka (glute) has missed two months and he logged 57 pitches in his lone MiLB rehab effort.
Top Stacks 8/10 ⚾️🎇
Sutter Health Park is the best hitting environment tonight, with subpar southpaw Jacob Lopez facing a passel of RHBs and struggling RHP Freddy Peralta hoping a change of scenery gets him back on track from the worst season of his career.
ARZ vs RHP Gabriel Hughes 5.5 runs: The 10th selection of the 2022 MLB Draft is barely in the top-25 prospects for the Rockies, after returning from Tommy John surgery. He has a few different offerings, though most are mediocre and his velocity is nothing special. Look to the lefties first, including discount dandy Lars Nootbar, who should have a prominent place in the batting order.
PHI vs RHP Hunter Dobbins 4.9 runs: It feels like Dobbins has been in our lives for quite some time, though tonight will be his 18th MLB appearance. It looks like both Bryce Harper and Kyle Schwarber are back on track after struggling up on returning from the ASG and Trea Turner has been a DFS difference maker, plus the stellar contact of three-time batting champion Luis Arraez should begin to pay dividends. Consider this core four, with LHBs Brandon Marsh and Bryson Stott viable clicks to round out full-stacks.
BOS at Jameson Taillon 4.8 runs: We are likely looking at the end of Taillon's career, so be sure to stack against him wherever possible. The Red Sox have been scorching and pretty much everyone in the lineup tonight is a worthwhile stacking selection.
STL at RHP Andrew Painter 4.4 runs: The top Philly prospect is back after a 5 game MiLB stint, though he still appears shaky vs lefty-power.
