Pitchers 9/1 ⚾️💪

MacKenzie Gore vs ATH 3.3 runs: The A's were limited to three hits, one run, zero walks and 11 strikeouts. Gore is not in the same league as Jacob deGrom even with the age-gap, though he has been a steady contributor this season, albeit with he occasional mound meltdown. Gore has a 26.5 K% since the start of last season and he should see at least four high-strikeout candidates (HKCs) tonight. The names Denzel Clarke, Alika Williams, Darell Hernaiz and Michael Stefanic are not going to strike fear in anyone's heart, but that is what the injury decimated A's are left with to fill out the lineup.

Gerrit Cole at LAA 3.3 runs: The Angels ripped off 10 runs last night, equaling their offensive projection of the preceding four games. That was just the third time in 15 games that the team had more than three runs and Cole should be able to take care of business as the Yankees look to close the 4.5 game gap on Tampa for the AL East crown. The frontline starter should see 5 HKCs, giving him excellent tournament upside.

Jezus Luzardo at ARZ 3.7 runs: In his last 14 games, Luzardo has 24+ DKFPs with six over 30, which is ridiculous. The D'backs are not going to go quietly into the night and there are only 2 HKCs in the projected lineup, but Luzardo clearly can make his own magic at the plate with a 29.2 K% across his last 1,461 batters faced since the start of last year.

Grayson Rodriguez vs NYY 4,5 runs: Employ the enigmatic and injury prone one-time prospect as a SP2 on DK ($7.0k), only if you are willing to accept the risk of a mound meltdown as a potential outcome. The fantasy point per dollar ratio is strong and there are strikeouts aplenty from the Yankees.

Top Stacks 9/1 ⚾️🎇

CHC vs LHP Robert Gasser 4.9 runs: Yes, the Cubbies put up seven runs and a trio of taters against first baseman Andrew Vaughn, but the team had already launched half a dozen into the cheap seats. The Wrigley wind did help the hometown nine tally 17 runs for the second time in three games, but before we start thinking this is Fugazi, the team also had 19 runs in Seattle barely a week ago. The breeze to center field is expected to be less of a factor tonight, but it is still in the 5-8mph range and Gasser has a fly ball lean.

MIL at LHP Matt Boyd 5.2 runs: Though the Brew Crew has the fewest home runs in the league this season, Boyd has been particularly generous in that department, ceding nine this month in 31 IP across five starts. He also has 11 walks and if he is not getting strikeouts, which are far from a guarantee by the oft-injured 35-year-old, we could see Milwaukee have the makings of a fine secondary stack, working as a Coors Field countermove.

LAD vs RHP Michael McGreevy 5.0 runs: Though he has proven himself worthy of a rotation role, McGreevy lacks strikeouts, with a dismal 16.5 K% this season, though it is up from 14.5% last year. Things go sideways when he is not coaxing ground balls from the opposition and he has a pair of 7-run disasters in his last six starts, posting a 7.07 ERA across those 28 IP with 11 walks. That is not a longterm successful strategy against the Dodgers, who provide another path to potential DFS glory outside of the Orioles and Rockies in Colorado.
