EARLY Pitchers 9/3 ⚾️ 🏖️

Hunter Brown vs CWS 4.0 runs: It is never fun tangling with the ChiSox boppers, though at least Brown has the ability to make his own magic at the plate with a 25.1 K% that has been 26.5% over the last fives starts and much closer to his terrific 28.1% fro last year. Expectations are that Chicago will have three hitters in the lineup with a 30+ K% against righties this season, which can soften the blow of a couple earned runs.

Jose Soriano at CLE 4.0 runs: Since arriving in Toronto, Soriano has been adequate, leaning into a 51% ground ball rate, while allowing only two round-trippers in five starts across 28.1 innings. The 10 walks are not favorable, though only Chase DeLauter and Steven Kwan have been remotely effective for the Guarians against righties for the last month. It is a reasonable expectation for Soriano to be solid, while the other pitchers falter this afternoon, giving him DFS appeal.

Tanner Bibee vs TOR 4.2 runs: Strikeouts are not part of Bibee's portfolio, as evidenced by his 44 in the last 56 innings (7.1/9). He has closed out the 6th-inning in 8 of these 9 efforts, allowing more than three runs only once. Similar to Soriano, the hope is that he is at least neutral, with the other pitchers struggling.

PIT vs RHP Blade Tidwell 4.9 runs: The Bucs have popped off for 28 runs in the last four games. Tidwell has suffered a pair of 6-run mound meltdowns in two of hi last three starts, though he has allowed just five total runs in three of his last five appearances. Look to the LHBs first, in the hopes that the offense continues to click for Pittsburgh.

SFG at RHP Lake Bachar 4.3 runs: Expect a bullpen game, with usual bulk pitcher Carmen Mlodzinski having worked last night. The Giants have a mostly competent top five, though Rafael Devers, Bryce Eldridge and Drew Gilbert would be regulars for a competent offense.

HOU vs RHP Luis Castillo 4.7 runs: The 'Stros are familiar with Castillo, who was a mainstay with Seattle for the last half decade. Unfortunately he is dreadful against lefties, though he will likely only see three from Houston. That trio is the foundation for stacking, with Jeremy Pena, Jose Altuve and catcher Yainer Diaz comprising the next wave of clicks.

Tarik Skubal vs STL 3.2 runs: The Redbirds put up four on Yoshinobu Yamamoto last night in the 6-7th innings, then popped off for three more in the 10th to claw back to a .500 record on the season. That was a nice story, but tonight they get the apex ace who would be in the mix for a third-consecutive Cy Young Award, if not for missing month after having an elbow procedure. Enjoy!

Kade Anderson vs ATH 3.3 runs: The rookie gets the injury decimated A's in T-Mobile Park. While his first two starts in The Show have been bumpy, he has already flashed the upside that made him the 3rd pick in the 2025 MLB Draft, garnering a ridiculous $8.8 million signing bonus. There are likely to be five high-strikeout candidates (HKCs) in the A's lineup and while the 22-year-old will need to prove himself against big league hitters, this is the perfect spot for a statement game.

Jack Perkins at SEA 4.4 runs: Perkins is an afterthought on the blue site, but he is a viable click at the $5.5k minimum starting pitcher rate on DK. Walks are an issue with Perkins, though he has had strong results away from Sutter Health Park. He should push for a strikeout per inning against the lowest scoring team in the league.

Jake Bennett at BAL 4.1 runs: Salary and an expected 6-7 HKCs in the O's lineup tonight have Bennett squarely in the tournament mix on both DK and FD. The wind is blowing in at Wrigley tonight, so Logan Henderson and Kevin Gausman are other GGP options.

Top Stacks 9/3 ⚾️🎇

No Coors Field or Sutter Health Park games tonight and the Wrigley wind is reversed from the last couple of days, though it is still hot and humid in Chicago. Kauffman Stadium will have 90-degree temperatures and there is a light breeze blowing out, though RHPs Sandy Alcantara and Michael Wacha specialize in limiting power and avoiding mound meltdowns.

LAD vs LHP Quinn Matthews 4.9 runs: After 209.2 Triple-A innings, it is time for the soon-to-be 26-year-old rookie to prove he belongs in The Show. He has shown some polish, though he had a 7-run mound meltdown @PHI that mars his other 14.2 IP where allowed four runs with 17 Ks. If Shohei Ohtani gets a day off as hinted at by manager Dave Roberts, there will be much less attention than usual on the Dodgers. If he plays, then expect The Masses to act accordingly.

SEA vs RHP Jack Perkins 4.2 runs: The M's lefties are all in play against Perkins, who may get some traction on DK where he is just $5.5k. He has been respectable on the road with a .206/.304/.355 triple-slash line and a 4.45 ERA, so looking to duos and trios is the best Seattle stacking strategy.

If the rain does not materialize at Camden Yards, then both the BoSox and Batters of Birdland provide additional paths to tournament glory. This is going to be a fun slate with no clear cut teams to target, which means lineup construction and getting pitchers right is going to favor savvy strategists.
