MLB DFS Top Stacks & Top Pitchers: September 7, 2026
Eric MacPherson is back with his daily card, breaking down the hitting stacks and starting pitchers he's targeting on this slate. Take his picks into the Stokastic MLB Sims and build by win probability across thousands of simulated contests.
EARLY Pitchers 9/7 ⚾️ 🏖️
Jesus Luzardo vs ATL 3.8 runs: The Braves are one game behind LAD and 2.5 from MIL for the best record in the NL. Still, Luzardo has great appeal with 6+ Ks in 14 of his last 15 starts, resulting in 12 per nine innings. It will not be an easy task this afternoon, though this is the first time he has faced Atlanta this season.
Joey Cantillo at BAL 4.0 runs: In not so surprising news, Luis Robert Jr. is back on the IL, because that appears to be his happy place. The projected lineup for the O's has a whopping seven high-strikeout candidates (HKCs), which gives Cantillo ample opportunities to erase the results of earned runs for his DFS supporters. He is also at a career-high for innings and allowed nine runs in his last start, though fiver were unearned. It may not be pretty to watch, but this iteration of the Baltimore offense is shaky at best aside from the top four.
Trevor Rogers vs CLE 3.7 runs: Like his counterpart, Rogers is at a career-high workload, though he has 6+ Ks in 8 of his last 9 games, with only 6 BBs and 6 HRs in these 54 IP. He will need to navigate the usual suspects at the top of the lineup card, though the bottom of the order should allow him to make up ground or even get ahead.
Eury Perez vs NYM 4.1 runs: The #LOLMets are thinned out by trades and injuries, while Perez is in poor current form with his last two starts seeing him for basically zero DFS points. He has K-potential, but it has been hiding for the last couple of outings.
EARLY Top Stacks 9/7 ⚾️🎇
ARZ at RHP Noah Cameron 4.9 runs: Kauffman Stadium will be hot and humid this afternoon and the D'Backs set up well against southpaws. Cameron has seen his K-rate slide to 18.3% over the last month, with his hard hit rate nearly at 50%. Geraldo Perdomo avoided the concussion protocol and should be leading off, with Lourdes Gurriel Jr. also returning to action.
KCR vs RHP Jose Cabrera 4.8 runs: The rookie is the 47th ranked prospect in the D'Backs system and better suited as a once-through-the-lineup reliever. We should not be shy about rolling with the Royals, including the LHBs at the bottom of the order for discounted differentiation.
MIA vs RHP Jonah Tong 4.1 runs: The rookie will be back up this afternoon facing a pesky Miami lineup that can put forth ample batsmen with the platoon-advantage. Tong is a top-prospect and while he has just 18.2 IP in The Show last year and 10 this season, he is likely up for good.
How he makes adjustments to big league hitters will be the key going forward. He should get strikeouts, but it is likely to come with nearly 4 BB/9 and round-trippers are also on the table for the opposition. The Marlins provide favorable salaries across a variety of positions this afternoon, giving savvy gamers a malleable mini-stack opportunity.
Pitchers 9/7 ⚾️ 🚀
Dylan Cease at ATH 3.6 runs: This is a strength on strength matchup as the power pitcher heads into the Triple-A launching pad. In favor of Cease is a career-high 35.4 K% and a matchup against the As who are missing most of their key hitters. For the Athletics, most of the remaining batsmen have pop, though with six projected hitters with a 25+ K% against righties over the last month, it is going to be hard to sustain any rallies.
Emmet Sheehan vs CIN 4.1 runs: The soon-to-be 27-year-old is being recalled from Triple-A, where he allowed one lonely run in his last three outings spanning 17.1 IP with a whopping 24 Ks. Lefties are his weakness, though the Reds are likely to only muster three tonight. They will be at the top of the order in JJ Bleday, Elly De LaCruz and Hector Rodriguez, which in turn provides our counter-stack foundation in tournaments. Keep in mind that the Dodgers are not screwing around as they trail MIL by 1.5 games and ATL is now only a game back. If Sheehan struggles, expect manager Dave Roberts to have a quick hood for a reliever.
Logan Webb vs STL 3.8 runs: Webb is coming off a 9-run mound meltdown @PIT and he had a 5-run effort three starts ago @BOS. The options on thin with the shallow 3-game slate and with the park boost and an inconsistent Redbirds squad, Webb looks like a reasonable SP2 on DK ($7.7k), where the price is definitely right.
Top Stacks 9/7 ⚾️🎇
TOR at LHP Jacob Lopez 5.1 runs: The Blue Jays do not strike out and they have the ability to run out a mostly right-handed lineup tonight, aside from outfielders Nathan Lukes and Brett Bateman, unless Charles McAdoo gets a spot start. It is a shallow player pool tonight and we know the drill when Sutter Health Park is in the mix.
SFG vs RHP Michael McGreevy 4.1 runs: The Cardinals are all but eliminated from the postseason, so they may start to feather back McGreevy's pitch count. Overall he has had a strong sophomore campaign, though over his last eight starts he has a 6.86 ERA, 5.37 xERA and 4.92 xFIP. In turn it is hard to be excited by the Giants, who are hard pressed to proffer more clicks than Rafael Devers, Drew Gilbert and Bryce Eldridge at the top of the lineup card. The rest of the NPCs are below replacement level cannon fodder, which likely will provide McGreevy the ability to focus his efforts to the trio at the top.
The short-slate of course is creating many uncomfortable leverage spots such as the Dodgers going against young fireballer RHP Chase Burns and of course the A's against RHP Dylan Cease. Picking our spots is going to be fun, but do not go overboard on the entry fees as we have the NFL in just two days.
