Pitchers 9/9 ⚾️💪
All eyes will be on the NFL the next two nights and of course on Sunday, but we still have MLB to pad our accounts heading into the fall.
Yoshinobu Yamamoto vs CIN 3.5 runs: It is a luxury for Yamamoto to follow LHP Tarik Skubal as it will be a major shift for the regular Cinci batsmen to adjust. Though he does not pile up the Ks, he gets enough to be useful and going deep into games, with the backing of a loaded offense increases his chances of corralling the win bonus.
Cristopher Sanchez vs HOU 3.9 runs: The 'Stros remain solid against southpaws, though Sanchez is an apex ace who makes his own magic at the plate with a 27.5 K%. While there are likely to be only 2-3 high-strikeout candidates (HKCs) in the Houston lineup, the bottom-third of the order does not have much pop and presents a 3-up, 3-down spot for pitchers willing to go after it.
Will Warren vs COL 3.9 runs: The salary is appealing on DK ($7.3k) making Warren a nice SP2 candidate. His summer swoon resulted in the Yankees pushing him to the bullpen, though he is back as a starter tonight. To the Rockies credit, the team is much improved from the last few seasons and there are capable hitters that do not wilt away from Coors Field. The pressure will be on Warren to deliver, though the price certainly is right for his DFS supporters.
Logan Henderson vs CHC 3.7 runs: It is never fun facing the Cubbies and Henderson had to deal with them at Wrigley Field in his last start. He has 23+ DKFP in six of his last eight starts, including last Thursday, though it will be tricky to return much upside on his five-figure salary.
Top Stacks 9/9 ⚾️🎇
NYY vs RHP Tomoyuki Sugano 5.5 runs: Sugano has more home runs and a higher ERA on the road this season than in Coors Field. The Yanks are no stranger to the former Oriole and while we do not like to look at BvP, Aaron Judge is 7-of-9 with a trio of taters against the former NPB stalwart. Look to the usual Bronx Bombers in this matchup.
LAD vs RHP Rhett Lowder 5.3 runs: The rookie has been thrown to the wolves this season, with just 14.1 Triple-A innings under his belt. He has flashed brilliance that made him the 7th overall selection in the 2023 MLB Draft, but he has really been taking his lumps as he pushes beyond his prior career-high workload. Look to the top half of the order and for those feeling bold, skipping Shohei Ohtani, if he returns to the lineup, is a quick path for differentiation against other Dodgers backers.
KCR vs RHP Zac Gallen 4.6 runs: After missing nearly three months with elbow inflammation, Gallen is returning to action. Expectations are that he is going to be eased back with around 50-60 pitches or three innings of action. The Royals have not been able to take advantage of positive weather conditions during this homestead, topping four runs twice in eight games. Do not be afraid to push the chips to the middle of the table once more as there is too much talent on the team for it to remain dormant much longer.
ARZ at LHP Daniel Lynch IV 4.8 runs: Similar to the Royals, the D'Backs regulars have been dreadful for the last month against southpaws, though the mostly right-handed lineup should find success soon and a matchup against Lynch is only going to help the cause.
