Reid Detmers vs SEA · 3.9 runs

This is pretty straightforward with the Mariners lacking many capable right-handed bats, aside from Randy Arozarena who is scorching hot at the moment and a resurgent Cal Raleigh. Dominic Canzone has been surprisingly effective against fellow southpaws, though the latter half of the projected M's lineup, including Julio Rodriguez barely has any hits against lefties over the last month, let alone any power upside. In his last 10 starts, Detmers has allowed a scant nine runes, with only 10 walks in 59.1 frames, accompanied by a stellar 68 strikeouts.

Jose Soriano vs DET · 3.6 runs

While he has been mostly mediocre since joining the Blue Jays, Soriano still has a nice game-to-game foundation with his proclivity for inducing ground balls and avoiding mound meltdowns. There are likely to be just three high-strikeout candidates in the Detroit lineup tonight, though the Motor City Kitties have been in poor form across the last 30 days with only Kevin McGonigle, Riley Greene and Spencer Torkelson providing any sort of consistent threat to opposing hurlers.

Quinn Mathews vs SFG · 3.6 runs

The rookie is averaging 98 pitches in his five MLB starts and while he has had mixed results, the only way tonight's matchup could be any better is if it was in San Francisco. The Giants lost Rafael Devers to injury and other than Bryce Eldridge and Jonah Cox at the top of the order, the rest of the lineup card is populated with players that would be deep reserves on most competent offenses.

The southpaw will do his best to ride his 50% ground ball rate, though we have seen enough mound meltdowns from him to know that only works until it doesn't. Look to the righties with pop first as they also will benefit from a 10-12mph breeze to left field if they can produce any reasonable sort of launch angle. Matt Olson is always in play as he is more than capable against fellow lefties.

ARZ vs RHP Sandy Alcantara · 4.9 runs

The Chase Field Roof will be closed for this series, though the humidor is not likely going to be an enough to save Alcantara who is in dreadful form. In his last three games he has allowed 15 ERs in 16.1 IP while striking out only six. In his last half dozen outings, he has a scant 15 Ks in 36.1 IP, with a hefty 13 BBs. The top-7 D'Backs through Tim Tawa are all in play tonight, providing ample stacking configurations across all positions and salary levels.

CHC vs RHP Reynaldo Lopez · 5.1 runs

Walks and home runs are a risky combination and if they come together, we could see a third mound meltdown in Lopez's last four starts. The top-5 Cubbies are the priority plays, with an honorable mention for discount dandy Michael Conforto from the bottom of the order.
