CHW vs RHP Tomoyuki Sugano · 4.8 runs

Hopefully the key hitters did not go too crazy after clinching a postseason ticket last night as there is still work to be done to secure the AL Central and a bye. Sugano is the gift that keeps on giving and he allows power to batters of either-handedness. Focus on the usual boppers up and down the order, though it is worth noting that Andrew Benintendi and Tristan Peters have been in poor form over the last few weeks, though this is a definitely get right matchup.

ARZ at RHP Casey Mize · 3.6 runs

The D'Backs need to win to keep hope alive and Mize has looked shaky at times since joining the Friars. San Diego is guaranteed a Wild Card slot and in the driver's seat to host the first round. The Phillies and Cubs are right behind, so this will be nip and tuck, making it unlikely Mize is left out to be shelled. Still the key ARZ bats can be considered for mini-stacks, pairs and one-offs for differentiation.

LAD, MIL and ATL: These teams are locked into their spots, so expect regulars to get a day off or shortened outings this weekend as they look to stay sharp. That could open doors for some of the cheaper reserves and understudies in favorable matchups tonight.

Pitchers 9/25 ⚾️💪

Sean Burke vs COL · 3.4 runs

The ChiSox clinched the postseason last night, but they are fighting CLE for the AL Central and a bye, Burke and company have the tiebreaker and with a 3.0 game lead, one win before Monday gets Chicago the crown. The Rockies are much better this season, though there should be at least four high-strikeout candidates in the lineup and while Burke has slipped over the last month, he should be bringing his A-game tonight.

Gavin Williams at KCR · 3.4 runs

Temps are in the upper-60s with a breeze in from right field as the Guardians take the first step to reeling in the Pale Hose for a first round bye. Williams has been an ace this season and his 244 strikeouts trail only Jacob Misiorowski (247). The three Royals at the top of the order, along with Vinnie Pasquantino will so their best against Williams, but the rest of the lineup has below average power.

Jacob deGrom at MIN · 3.7 runs

The Rangers are on the outside looking in and are without the tiebreaker, but they can still catch HOU for the AL West. The bottom of the Twins lineup is a wind farm, but the top-six are strong. Considering the Texas rotation, this is a must win for the old war horse.

Reid Detmers at SEA · 3.6 runs

It will be cool in Seattle with mid-game temps sliding below 60 degrees, which is a bonus for pitchers in an already friendly park. Detmers is at career-highs across the board, but he has a strong path to a 5-6 inning outing with at least one whiff per frame. The M's have struggled all season against southpaws and that is another nod in Detmers' direction.

Motivations vary and we are likely to see some wonky lineups tonight.
