The 'Stros are short on starting pitchers, so we are look at a bullpen game today, with Hunter Brown starting tomorrow. Expect Blubaugh for an inning and maybe a couple hitters in the second if he is efficient. Houston has four lefties in the bullpen, including closer Josh Hader, so expect manager Joe Espada to look for advantages. Munetaka Murakami and Colson Montgomery can handled fellow lefties, though Andrew Benintendi and Tristan Peters could be at risk for situational pinch-hitters.

HOU vs LHP Hagen Smith · 4.3 runs

Similarly the ChiSox are going with a bullpen game with the lights out Smith opening things up. The bottom of the order is dodgy for Houston, so keep the focus on the first five, including Yainer Diaz as a strong catching option on DK to fulfill the backstop requirement.

ATL vs LHP Jesus Luzardo · 3.8 runs

Luzardo (shoulder inflammation) came off the IL this weekend, logging a four-pitch 8th-inning on Sunday, after missing three weeks. He was outstanding this season with an 11.1 K/9 rate that ranked fourth overall, though we should not expect more than 2-3 innings. The Phillies will be going with Cristopher Sanchez if Game 3 is needed and it is unlikely that Zack Wheeler pitches this series after winning Sunday's game. Focus on the top-five Atlanta hitters, including Matt Olson, Michael Harris II and Drake Baldwin (another catching option) who are adequate in lefty-lefty matchups and have the potential to thrive when they get the platoon-advantage against a righty.

Chris Sale vs PHI · 3.1 runs

The 37-year-old southpaw struck out 10 in his final start Wednesday, notching exactly 200 Ks for the season and reaching that milestone for the ninth time in his career. Despite the familiarity with the Phillies, Sale has held the upper hand against most hitters expected to be in the starting lineup and he will benefit from the absence of Luis Arraez using up his pitch count.

Cam Schlittler vs BOS · 3.1 runs

The presumptive AL Cy Young Award frontrunner has been splendiferous this season, leading the league with a 1.95 ERA and 7.0 WAR, accompanied by a 215 ERA+ and his 11.1 K/9 was T-4 along with Sale and Jesus Luzardo. This will be the fourth time he has faced the Red Sox this season and he has held serve each tine allowing seven runs (four unearned), with 27 Ks in 24.1 IP. The Boston offense sputtered across the finish line with just 26 runs in their last dozen games.

Payton Tolle at NYY · 3.3 runs

Aaron Judge (calf) is attempting to be cleared for the series, having last played two weeks ago and managing only seven games since the end of May. Tolle is quite the character and quickly became a league-wide favorite, aided by his excellent performances. He has faced the Yankees only twice this season, the last being in late-June. The current Bronx roster has managed just four hits against him in 32 plate appearances.
