Dominate Underdog Superflex Best Ball – Strategy + Rankings

Underdog just dropped their newest tournament — The Puppy but Superflex, and it comes with a new format! Instead of having your 3 highest scoring wide receivers plus one Flex count towards your Best Ball score, it’s your top two WRs, one Flex and one Superflex, where it can be any player skill or QB.

Usually in 0.5 PPR like Underdog, QBs score quite well compared to other positions. Our lowest projected QB on a per-game basis, Davis Mills for the Texans, is still projected to average 15 points per game. This puts him right in the ballpark of some of the second-tier skill players like Saquon Barkley and Ja’Marr Chase. In other words, quarterbacks outscore their skill level compared to other positions, and by a huge factor! Being able to count your second-highest-scoring quarterback towards your score makes having two quarterbacks on your squad a huge advantage. With only 32 starting quarterbacks to go around, quarterbacks are in high demand in Superflex.

That being said, you still have to compare these players versus the replacement-level players you could draft later to know their true value in their format. A good example is Aaron Rodgers vs. Derrick Henry. Both are projected to score about 19 fantasy points per game with Underdog’s format, but we have Henry ranked as a high first-rounder, while Rodgers is towards the end of the second round. That’s because on the floor for your RB2 spot is a lot lower than the floor of your Superflex spot, where you get the benefit of all of the players on your roster to cover your bases.

Fortunately, we did all that work on the back end for you. Using our Best Ball simulations, we were able to calculate the average points that each player will add to your fantasy score throughout the season, given the Superflex format. You can take these rankings are directly upload them to Underdog to prepare for your draft. Just make sure to go to the rankings tab and select the Superflex slate!
