The party that is Week 1 of the college football season continues on Saturday with the first real main slate of the year.  Some marquee storylines all over the map this week as Michigan starts their post-Aiden Hutchison era and Georgia begins their title defense at home against Oregon to go along with plenty of others to get us excited for Week 1. With 14 games in play and a bunch of teams playing against inferior competition, there are plenty of strong CFB DFS picks at all positions and some potentially lopsided scores across the board. This article will provide college football DFS picks and lineup advice for the DraftKings slate on Sept. 3 that locks at 12 p.m. ET.

College Football DFS: Week 1 Saturday CFB Picks

Quarterback

Dillon Gabriel, Oklahoma ($9,200)Projected as the highest-scoring player and one of the better values on the entire slate there’s a ton to like about Gabriel this week. Facing a UTEP defense that just gave up 31 points to North Texas, Gabriel finds himself in a really good spot to put on a show in his Oklahoma debut. Reunited with his former offensive coordinator Jeff Lebby, there shouldn’t be many early season hiccups and against this UTEP defense his upside is Spencer Sanders-like from Thursday night. One of the top transfers in the country, expect Gabriel to give the home crowd plenty of reasons to go wild.

Holton Ahlers, East Carolina ($6,100) –– With 14 games and 28 quarterbacks in play, there are likely going to be good options at almost every price range. While that is definitely true on the high end this week, Ahlers stands out as another one of the top value plays, and with so many good quarterbacks priced above him, it would be surprising if he got much love at all especially with ECU coming in as a double-digit underdog. While NC State is the better team on paper, ECU is definitely live in this spot at home and if the Pirates are in this game it will be because of their senior quarterback. NC State allowed more pass attempts (34.2) than almost any other team in the country and at this price point, it’s not hard to see Ahlers’ path to success in this spot.

Other Quarterbacks: Dorian Thompson-Robinson, UCLA ($9,000); Taulia Tagovailoa, Maryland ($8,700); Haynes King, Texas A&M ($8,500); Jaxson Dart, Ole Miss ($8,300); Clayton Tune, Houston ($7,900); Jaren Hall, BYU ($7200); Drake Maye, UNC ($7,100)

Running Backs

Zach Evans, Ole Miss ($7,800) — While Jaxson Dart might be getting all the press, Evans is the new Rebel to watch this week. A former five-star recruit and the No. 1 player in the state of Texas in the 2020 class, Evans played 2020 and 2021 at TCU before deciding this offseason to take his talents east to Ole Miss and coach Lane Kiffin. Despite only playing in six games last season due to a turf toe injury, Evans still had 648 yards rushing to go with five touchdowns and, when healthy, he looked every bit the part of a five-star running back. While there are some good options behind him in the Rebels running game, Evans is the main guy; and, simply put, Kiffin will make it a point to put him in spots to succeed. With massive upside even at this high price point Evans is a rock-solid option in all formats.

Kenny McIntosh, Georgia ($6,600) — Opening its title defense at home in a marquee matchup against Oregon, we definitely want some exposure to Georgia on this slate, and McIntosh is a great place to start at $6.6K. With both Zamir White and James Cook now in the NFL, there are definitely carries for the taking in the Bulldogs backfield, and McIntosh should finally have a lucrative role this Georgia offense. Even with Kendall Milton looming as part of a timeshare, McIntosh proved his worth in the passing game last year, catching a pass in all but one game. One of the better floor/ceiling combinations on the slate, McIntosh can be plugged in with confidence everywhere.

Other Running Backs: Zach Charbonnet, UCLA ($7,900); Devon Achane, Texas A&M ($7,600); Blake Corum, Michigan ($7,300); Keaton Mitchell, East Carolina ($6,700); Chance Bell, San Diego State ($5,400); Camerun Peoples, Appalachian State ($4,900); Omarion Hampton, UNC ($3,000); Jamal Johnson, Bowling Green ($3,000)

Wide Receivers

Dontay Demus Jr., Maryland ($6,800) — There is a lot to like about Maryland and its offense this week, and Demus stands out as one of the top wide receiver plays in all formats at a very reasonable $6.8K price tag. Maryland’s leading receiver in both 2019 and 2020, Demus was leading the Terrapins in both receptions (28) and receiving yards (507) and touchdowns (5) last year before getting hurt in Week 5 against Iowa and eventually missing the rest of the season. It goes without saying that Demus is a presence for this Maryland offense, and matched up with a poor Buffalo secondary, expect him to take advantage in a big way. It wouldn’t be surprising at all to see him as the top-scoring wide receiver on the slate.

Ronnie Bell, Michigan ($6,600) — Much like Demus, Bell returns after missing all but one drive last season, and despite a really good year, the Wolverines were definitely missing him as he’s arguably their best offensive player. While he didn’t have much to go on last season, on that one drive before getting injured, all Bell did was pull in a spectacular 76-yard touchdown reception showing his massive upside in its truest form. In line to be Michigan’s primary punt returner to go along with being its No. 1 wide receiver, Bell’s Swiss-Army-Knife-like toolset should mean big things for him this year, and his $6.6K price tag is just way too cheap for a cake matchup at home against Colorado State. He will be $8K+ before long, so plug him in at this price point while you still can.

Other Wide Receivers: Nathaniel Dell, Houston ($7,800); Marvin Mims, Oklahoma ($7,700); Zakhari Franklin, UTSA ($7,500); J.J. Jones, UNC ($7,300); Jacob Cowing, Arizona ($6,900); Jesse Matthews, SDSU ($6,500); Jake Bobo, UCLA ($5,000); Odieu Hiliare, Bowling Green ($3,000); Samuel Brown, Houston ($3,000)
