College Football Week 4 Night Slate DFS Picks: How to Build Around Caleb Williams and USC (September 24)

After a monster 13-game main college football slate we have a lighter eight-game night slate as DraftKings does its best to get us ready for a full day of NFL football on Sunday.

Ohio State hosts Wisconsin in a battle for Big Ten supremacy, Kansas State hits the road to take on Oklahoma in Norman, and USC travels to Corvallis for a game with Oregon State that starts 90 minutes later than any other game on the slate. With other interesting games scattered throughout the slate, we should be in for a fun one as the day winds down.

With eight games in play and a few teams still playing against inferior competition, there are plenty of strong CBB DFS picks at all positions and some potentially lopsided scores across the board. This article will provide NCAAF DFS picks and lineup advice for the DraftKings slate on Sept. 24 that locks at 7 p.m. ET.

College Football DFS: Week 4 Saturday Night CFB Picks

Quarterback

Caleb Williams, USC ($10,200) — From a Daily Fantasy Sports perspective, Williams is about as good as it gets. His floor/ceiling combination is second to none and he’s been every bit as advertised since transferring from Oklahoma. There are a couple other really good quarterbacks on this slate so if you prefer a C.J. Stroud or a KJ Jefferson. Averaging 29.8 DraftKings with 24-plus in each of USC’s three games, however, it’s hard to find a better fantasy quarterback in college football right now. Even in a tough matchup against Oregon State, he’s the top signal caller on the board. Even at his expensive $10.2K price tag he’s a real tough fade in all formats.

Other Quarterbacks: C.J. Stroud, Ohio State ($9,100); Will Levis, Kentucky ($8,300); KJ Jefferson, Arkansas ($7,000); Chance Nolan, Oregon State ($6,500); Adrian Martinez, Kansas State ($5,700); Max Johnson, Texas A&M ($4,700)

Running Backs

Deuce Vaughn, Kansas State ($6,700) — Deuce was aces for us last week against Missouri and there’s no reason not to go right back to him again on Saturday night at $6.7K. Too cheap for his floor/ceiling combination, Vaughn is one of the most productive running backs in college football averaging just under 25 DraftKings points with 19-plus in each of Kansas State’s first three games. While he only ran for 51 yards against Oklahoma last year, Vaughn had 10 receptions for 104 yards and a touchdown and we project him as one of the top running backs of the day. Plug in with confidence everywhere.

Aidan Robbins, UNLV ($4,700) — Projected only behind Bijan Robinson as the highest-scoring running back for the entire weekend, Robbins looks like a stone cold lock in both cash games and tournaments at $4.7K. With six trips to the end zone in three games, Robbins ran wild on North Texas last week rushing for 227 yards and scoring three of those six touchdowns. The Rebels are a field-goal favorite on the road in Utah State; expect them to keep it on the ground early and often. At this price point Robbins is perhaps the top value play we’ve seen all year.

Other Running Backs: Raheim Sanders, Arkansas ($7,400); Devon Achane, Texas A&M ($6,300); Kavosiey Smoke, Kentucky ($6,100); Calvin Tyler Jr., Utah State ($4,800)

Wide Receivers

Emeka Egbuka, Ohio State ($6,200) — Even with Jaxon Smith-Njigba back in the fold for the Buckeyes, Egbuka still projects as its top scoring wideout at an extremely affordable price point. We definitely want exposure to this Ohio State receiving unit and with Smith-Njigba at $7.6K and Marvin Harrison Jr. $7K, Egbuka looks like a clear cog in our machine at only $6.2K. Averaging 28.5 DraftKings points with 24-plus in each of the Buckeyes first three games, Egbuka has clearly established himself a really nice rapport with quarterback C.J. Stroud, and at this price point we can’t lock him in fast enough.

Tre’Shaun Harrison, Oregon State ($5,300) — A bunch of good wide receivers in play on Saturday night so if you prefer to spend up here, do your thing. At $5.3K, however, Harrison looks like one of the top value plays on the board and given the context of the slate it’s hard to imagine him getting much love. The USC hype train is rolling, but now the Beavers are 3-0 themselves and as only 6-point underdogs this game has the potential to be a lot closer than most people think.

With one of the most prolific offenses in the country, USC will undoubtedly score points and it will be on Oregon State quarterback Chase Nolan and Harrison to keep them in this game. Averaging 17.6 DraftKings points per game, Harrison is coming off his best performance of the season last week when he put up eight catches for 133 yards and a touchdown on an overmatched Montana State team. Expect him to keep that momentum going on Saturday night as Oregon State looks for a big time upset.

Other Wide Receivers: Jordan Addison, USC ($10,300); Marvin Mims, Oklahoma ($8,400); Jaxon Smith-Njigba, Ohio State ($7,600); Marvin Harrison Jr., Ohio State ($7,000); Ainias Smith, Texas A&M ($5,900); Zay Flowers, Boston College ($5,800); Johnny Wilson, Florida State ($5,500); Arland Bruce IV, Iowa ($4,900); Matt Landers, Arkansas ($4,200); Julian Fleming, Ohio State ($4,000); Evan Stewart, Texas A&M ($3,600)
