College Football DFS Picks: Drake Maye and Israel Abanikanda Lead the Way (October 29)

Saturday’s college football fun doesn’t stop with the main slate, and the college football gods have blessed us with a nine-game prime time slate that starts at 7:00 p.m. ET. Let’s dive into a jam-packed slate for our College Football DFS picks including Drake Maye and Israel Abanikanda.

Undefeated Tennessee hosts rival Kentucky with plenty of SEC implications on the line. USC travels to Arizona looking to get back on track after suffering their first loss of the season. Marshall hosts Coastal Carolina. UAB hits the road to Boca Raton to matchup with the Owls. Jimbo Fisher and Texas A&M plays host to SEC rival Ole Miss. Arizona State heads to Boulder for a matchup with Colorado. Texas Tech hosts Baylor in a game with huge Big 12 implications. Michigan State heads down to the road to Ann Arbor to battle the Wolverines. Last, but certainly not least, Drake Maye and North Carolina plays host to Pittsburgh as both teams look to crawl up the ACC standings.

With nine games in play and a few teams still playing against inferior competition, there are plenty of strong CBB DFS picks at all positions and some potentially lopsided scores across the board. This article will provide NCAAF DFS picks and lineup advice for the DraftKings slate on October 29 that locks at 7:00 p.m. ET. Let’s dive into our College Football DFS picks.

College Football DFS Picks: Week 9 Saturday Night

Quarterback

Drake Maye, North Carolina ($7,900) — While there’s always a lot to like about Caleb Williams, Maye looks like the top dollar-for-dollar quarterback on the slate at $7,900.  Projected just slightly behind his USC counterpart, Maye has been phenomenal for North Carolina this season, throwing for 2,283 yards and 24 touchdowns with just three interceptions. Plenty of rushing upside as well, Maye is averaging a robust 36.2 DraftKings points per game, and in another great spot on Saturday night against Pittsburgh, he’s one of the top overall plays on the entire slate.

Other Quarterbacks: Caleb Williams, USC ($9,800); Hendon Hooker, Tennessee ($7,800); Grayson McCall, Coastal Carolina ($7,600); Jayden de laura, Arizona ($7,000); Emory Jones, Arizona State ($6,200); J.J. McCarthy, Michigan ($6,000); Cam Fancher, Marshall ($4,900)

Running Backs

Travis Dye, USC ($7,800) — One of the premier running backs in college football, Dye looks like an elite play in all formats on Saturday night at $7,800. Our second-highest projected running back on the slate, Dye has been fantastic in his first season in Southern California, rushing for 647 yards and seven touchdowns on 101 carries. Averaging 21.5 DraftKings points per game, the Oregon transfer finds himself in an elite spot matched up with an Arizona defense that ranks 309th in the country against the run. With USC’s team total hovering around 45 points, expect the Trojans to feed Dye early and often as they look to get back on track after suffering their first loss of the season.

Israel Abanikanda, Pittsburgh ($7,700) — Projected as the highest-scoring running back on the slate, Israel Abanikanda is hard to get away from in any format at $7,700. Averaging 30.4 DraftKings points per game, Abanikanda has been on fire recently, rushing for 449 yards and seven touchdowns on 66 carries just over the past two weeks alone. 100.9 DraftKings points over this current two-game stretch, Abanikanda is carrying the Panthers offense right now and there’s no reason expect anything different in a matchup with North Carolina. With Drake Maye presumably lighting it up for the Tar Heels, Pittsburgh will need a massive performance from Abanikanda to stay in this game, and considering he’s got 30 or more DraftKings points in three out of the past four games, fade him at your own risk.

Other Running Backs: DeWayne McBride, UAB ($8,500); Xazavian Valladay, Arizona State ($6,700); Khalan Laborn, Marshall ($6,300); Devon Achane, Texas A&M ($6,000); CJ Beasley, Coastal Carolina ($4,100); Caleb Hood, North Carolina ($3,000)

Wide Receivers

Jacob Cowing, Arizona ($7,800) — Our top projected wide receiver on the slate, Cowing looks phenomenal in both cash games and tournaments at a more than affordable $7,800 price tag. Another transfer that has had a huge impact for his new team, Cowing was a star at UTEP before making his way to Tucson, and he’s settled into Pac-12 life pretty well, catching 53 passes for 737 yards and seven touchdowns. One of the most productive wideouts in the country, Cowing is averaging 25.2 DraftKings points per game, and he’s the clear top target for quarterback Jayden de Laura. With Caleb Williams and Co. on the other side of this game, Arizona will need to score a ton of points to stay within striking distance of the Trojans, and expect the Wildcats to do whatever they can to get the ball in Cowing’s hands.

Antoine Green, North Carolina ($3,800) — Arguably the top value play on the entire slate, Green looks like an elite play in all formats at $3,800. Second on the Tar Heels in receiving despite only playing in four games, Green is averaging 20.4 DraftKings points, and matched up with a Pittsburgh secondary that has consistently gotten burned by opposing No. 2 wide receivers, he couldn’t ask to be in a better spot on Saturday night. While it’s not a must, pairing a receiver with Maye makes a lot of sense on this slate, and at $3.8K, Green is the clear top option in both cash games and tournaments. 24 or more DraftKings points in half of the games he has played this season, Green is a cog in our machine in all formats at this extremely low price point.

Other Wide Receivers: Josh Downs, North Carolina ($8,000); Jalin Hyatt, Tennessee ($7,000); Elijhah Badger, Arizona State ($6,900); Mario Williams, USC ($6,800); Sam Pinckney, Coastal Carolina ($6,600); Konata Mumpfield, Pittsburgh ($6,300); Dorian Singer, Arizona ($5,900); Evan Stewart, Texas A&M ($4,600); Jared Brown, Coastal Carolina ($4,300)
