College Football Week 7 DFS Picks & Night Slate Preview: Target Drake Maye in a Matchup with Duke (October 15)

Saturday’s college football fun doesn’t stop with the main slate, and a nine-game night slate ends the DFS college football night on DraftKings, with plenty of big names available, including Drake Maye and Cameron Rising.

LSU heads to Florida for a SEC battle with the Gators. Kentucky hosts Mississippi with quarterback Will Levis back behind center. Stanford heads to Notre Dame to battle for the Legends Trophy. Purdue plays host to Nebraska in a battle for Big Ten bragging rights. Clemson hits the road to Tallahassee for a matchup with Florida State and the Seminoles. Memphis heads to East Carolina to battle the Pirates in a key AAC matchup.

Those are just the six games that start at 7:00 or 7:30 p.m. ET, with two more contests kicking off at 8:00 p.m. ET. Utah hosts USC with major Pac-12 implications on the line. Last, but certainly not least, North Carolina travels to Duke for a good, old fashioned rivalry game.

With eight games in play and a few teams still playing against inferior competition, there are plenty of strong CBB DFS picks at all positions and some potentially lopsided scores across the board. This article will provide NCAAF DFS picks and lineup advice for the DraftKings slate on October 15 that locks at 7:00 p.m. ET.

College Football DFS: Week 7 Saturday Night CFB Picks

Quarterback

Drake Maye, North Carolina ($6,600) — Our top projected quarterback for the entire day, Maye looks like a lock in all formats at a very affordable $6,600 price tag. Averaging 36.3 DraftKings points per game, Maye has been one of the best signal-callers in college football, and there’s absolutely no reason he should be this cheap in a good spot against the Blue Devils. 300 passing yards in three straight games with multiple touchdown passes in six straight, Maye has at least 37 DraftKings points in three of North Carolina’s first six games, and at this price point there’s just no getting away from him. It’s a rare day when Caleb Williams isn’t the highest projected quarterback on a slate, but with Maye projected for about seven more DraftKings points than his USC counterpart, we will take the $3,300 savings and quickly move along.

Other Quarterbacks: Caleb Williams, USC ($9,900); Cameron Rising, Utah ($7,800); Jayden Daniels, LSU ($7,100); Holton Ahlers, East Carolina ($5,900); Riley Leonard, Duke ($5,800)

Running Backs

Travis Dye, USC ($7,700) — Our top projected running back on Saturday night, Dye has been a model of consistency for the Trojans this season with at least 21 DraftKings points in six straight games. Averaging 21.6 points per game, expect Lincoln Reilly and company to lean on the Oregon transfer even more on Saturday night as USC looks to stay undefeated in a tough matchup against Utah. We want exposure to both sides of this game in daily fantasy sports, and while the USC passing game isn’t in a great spot against a lethal Utes secondary, look for Dye to get the ball a ton as he extends his streak of 21 or more DraftKings points to seven games.

Casey Filkins, Stanford ($5,500) — Stanford has had a real rough go of it this season, as the Cardinal currently sit at 1-4 both straight up and against the spread. While their defense has been horrendous, Stanford’s offense has been respectable, and with E.J. Smith ruled out for the remainder of the season, Filkins is the clear top dog in the Cardinal backfield. Averaging 17.5 DraftKings points per game, Filkins has been especially good over the past three contests, rushing for 242 yards on 60 carries to go along with eight catches for 99 yards. Against the run this season Notre Dame ranks just 119th in the country, and if Stanford can give Filkins enough time to get past the line of scrimmage, this could be the mismatch the Cardinal takes advantage of to keep this game within reach.

Other Running Backs: Tavion Thomas, Utah ($7,300); Chris Rodriguez Jr., Kentucky ($6,800); Anthony Grant, Nebraska ($6,700); Keaton Mitchell, East Carolina ($6,400); Audric Estime, Notre Dame ($5,600); Micah Bernard, Utah ($5,300); Devin Mockobee, Purdue ($4,500); Lawrance Toafili, Florida State ($3,300)

Wide Receivers

Charlie Jones, Purdue ($7,500) — A staple in this article for much of the season, Jones is the top projected wide receiver for any slate on Saturday, and we can’t plug him in fast enough at $7,500. Averaging 26.7 DraftKings points per game, Jones has struggled a bit the past two contests, but look for him to get back on track in a big way on Saturday night as the Boilermakers take on Nebraska in West Lafayette. With value plays scattered all over the slate, Jones’ $7.5K price tag is easy to fit, and considering we have him projected for close to five more points than the next highest receiver on the slate, we will lock him in with confidence and quickly move on.

Michael Mayer, Notre Dame ($5,600) — The top target for quarterback Drew Pyne, Mayer has been phenomenal for the Irish over the past two games, hauling in 18 receptions for 206 yards and three touchdowns. Averaging close to 30 DraftKings points during this two-game stretch, Mayer is a target monster, and his $5,600 price tag leaves a lot of meat of meat on the bone in a really spot at home against Stanford. At least one touchdown reception in every game but the Ohio State game, Mayer has been arguably the best tight end in the country, and at this price point he’s a cog in our machine in all formats.

Other Wide Receivers: Josh Downs, North Carolina ($7,800); Trey Palmer, Nebraska ($7,000); Isaiah Winstead, East Carolina ($5,800); C.J. Johnson, East Carolina ($5,500); Mycah Pittman, Florida State ($5,200); Kayshon Boutte, LSU ($4,700); Marcus Washington, Nebraska ($4,300); Antoine Green, North Carolina ($3,500)
