CAR 2 (Svechnikov-J. Staal-Teravainen)

Stacking against the Washington Capitals is a better idea than it ever used to be, especially on the road, where Washington allows 3.34 goals a game. This trio has created a ton of chances without much to show for it. In their 110 minutes sample, they have generated 78 Corsi For per 60, 37.4 Scoring Chances For per 60, and 18.4 High-Danger Chances per 60. They should see the most time against the Alex Ovechkin line which is among the ten worst in the league at allowing high-danger chances per 60.

Staal and Svechnikov possess some correlation on the second power-play unit while Teuvo Teravainen plays up on the first unit. The expectation is that this Carolina line is cheaper and can do more damage (price per point rate). Carolina’s first line will also be more heavily owned so this is about balance and spending elsewhere. This spotlight stack yields better points per dollar value. Edmonton’s top-line is quite expensive but useable. After that, DFS NHL players have to go more frugal.

FLA 1 (Huberdeau-Barkov-Dadonov)

The risk is high here but if this top line stays together, it can create matchup problems for Ottawa everywhere. Dadonov sometimes wanders off the top-six but they’re going up against an Ottawa team that allows the most shots in the league. Florida is a top-five shot rate team even on the road.Ottawa allows nearly 3.5 goals per game since February 1st, while their penalty kill is 78% at home. On the flip side, Florida’s power-play converts at a 27.4% rate — second best in the NHL and this line has full  power play correlation. You can add Keith Yandle to join in on the power-play point potential, should you feel so inclined. Florida’s second line is also in play if you’re looking for savings – they were on all the winning DFS lineups last time out against the Leafs.

SAN 1 (Meier-Couture-Nyquist)

Joe Pavelski was expected to play tonight, but will be out for tonight’s game against Chicago, after all. A matchup against CHI1 is about as good as it gets in hockey and Couture is going to be on the top power-play unit against Chicago’s NHL-worst on the road penalty kill (72%). Gustav Nyquist could benefit heavily from the Pavelski news. San Jose and Chicago both have struggled to score goals over the last five contests but this feels like a get-right game for San Jose.
