DraftKings and FanDuel Spotlight Stacks, Saturday 5/5

The following Spotlight Stacks were selected by Awesemo.com writer Jake Hari. Please check back later for notes/additional picks from Awesemo himself.

ATL (vs. SFG)

The Braves offense has looked great over the last few weeks and now they’ll get Ty Blach in a great hitting environment. We talked about Blach in the Spotlight Hitters article but he’s not a guy that is going to miss many bats on either side with his 6.1% Swinging-Strike rate this year. The righties are pretty obvious here (Acuna, Albies, Bautista, Suzuki), but if you’re stacking the Braves, Freddie Freeman and Nick Markakis shouldn’t be intentionally avoided against Blach. If they knock Blach out early, they’ll get the Giants Bullpen which ranks in the bottom-5 in K% and Swinging-Strike rate.

Bryan Mitchell looks like the right-handed version of Ty Blach, and maybe even a little better to pick on than him. Mitchell has posted under 7 K/9, a Swinging-Strike rate under 5%, and 37.3% Hard-Hit rate on the year, and they’ll get a boost in elevation in Monterrey Stadium in Mexico. The guys I’m most interested in are Taylor, Pederson, Grandal, Bellinger, and Kemp, with Grandal and Bellinger being two of my favorite plays on the slate.

LAA (@SEA)

I’ve been stacking the Angels for the last week straight it seems, and I’ll gladly go back to them tonight against Marco Gonzales, a lefty who is giving up a .350 wOBA and 42.2 Hard-Hit% to right-handed bats. I am a little worried about Gonzales’ high K-rate against righties, but many of these Angels are well under 20% against left-handed pitching over the last year and change. Kinsler, Trout, Upton, Pujols, and even Andrelton Simmons all make for solid plays and outside of Trout at $5,800, they’re pretty affordable on DK and I don’t think they’ll be one of the higher-owned stacks of the night.

Awesemo’s Notes
I think that the Dodgers are a clear top stack on FanDuel and among the best options on DraftKings. Atlanta is a solid option on both sites. I agree with Josh that the Angels are a better stack on DraftKings than FanDuel.
