The field has been set for this Sunday’s Firekeepers Casino 400 at Michigan for NASCAR’s first and only trip to Brooklyn this year. With first time pole winner Bubba Wallace and fellow Toyota driver Christopher Bell leading the field to green on Sunday, let’s dive into the best tournament plays for this weekend’s race.
NASCAR DFS GPP Picks Today
NASCAR heads to Michigan this week to tackle the two mile high speed large oval track that features minimal tire wear. This will be our sixth time visiting a higher speed intermediate type track this year so we do have a decent sample size of data to sift through as well as practice on Saturday to help determine who is looking like strong targets for Sunday’s race. With this being a 200 lap race, I will look to use a mile and a half track strategy as far as roster construction is concerned. rostering one to two dominators is typically the best way to target these track types.
Top Driver Picks & Projections
Kyle Busch $10,500 DraftKings / $13,500 FanDuel (3rd)
Toyota was the class of the field during Saturday’s practice and qualifying session and it wasn’t a surprise by any means, but they certainly confirmed expectations heading into the weekend. Kyle Busch doesn’t offer as much place differential upside as others in this price range, but he could very well be the top dominator on Sunday and he has been incredibly strong at these tracks this year.
Martin Truex Jr $9,500 DraftKings / $10,500 FanDuel (7th)
Toyota will be popular, but Martin Truex Jr. could go a tad overlooked compared to his teammates this weekend and he has shown race winning upside down the stretch. MTJ was also fast in practice and this price point is appealing for a driver with his upside at a track like this. His pit crew has also been very strong this year and it should help him maintain or gain spots throughout the race.

Christopher Bell $9,000 DraftKings / $10,000 FanDuel (2nd)
Starting P2 will always keep ownership lower on a driver as the pole position soaks up the majority of the ownership more often than not, but Christopher Bell is a legit race winning contender in this race and he could very well grab the lead early on as well. Outside of AutoClub (where Toyota struggled) Bell has been one of the most consistent drivers at the higher speed tracks and even has dominator upside.
Bubba Wallace $7,400 DraftKings / $7,800 FanDuel (1st)
Bubba Wallace was able to grab his first ever pole on Saturday as he displayed top end speed like all the other Toyota’s did this weekend. He has had a strong car at these track types it is just a matter of putting an entire race together for him as his pit crew has never been top shelf. But at this price point if he can lead a chunk of stage one and hang around top five for the majority of the day he can pay off his price point.
Ty Gibbs $6,600 DraftKings / $7,000 FanDuel (11th)
Might be tough to trust the rookie, especially a 19-year-old one at that, but I’m willing to take a chance on Ty Gibbs after the speed this no.45 car showed in practice. He also won the Xfinity race at Michigan on Saturday, which yes it’s a different car, but it certainly gives some extra added confidence.
