The field has been set for this Sunday’s M&M’s 400 at Pocono Raceway in the Pocono mountains for NASCAR’s one and only trip to the Tricky Triangle this season. With Joe Gibbs Racing teammates Denny Hamlin and Kyle Busch leading the field to Sunday, let’s dive into the best tournament plays for this weekend’s race.
NASCAR DFS GPP Picks Today: Pocono
NASCAR heads to Pocono this weekend after a month of short tracks, road courses, and superspeedways. There isn’t many comparable tracks to Pocono so looking at data at some of the higher speed tracks we have already visited this season will be the best resource to pin-point plays this weekend outside of practice and qualifying. With only 160 laps this weekend, I will be viewing this as more of a finishing position race, rather than jamming in as many dominators as possible.
Top Driver Picks & Projections
Martin Truex Jr $10,300 DraftKings / $12,000 FanDuel (8th)
Truex is coming off a dominant week last weekend at New Hampshire and looks to be in another spot to take advantage of this weekend. The Toyota’s seem to be the strong cars heading into Sunday and I plan on loading up on them in the majority of my lineups. MTJ is also the leader in average green flag speed this season removing superspeedway’s and road courses. He offers more place differential than several of the drivers in this price range and race winning upside.

Christopher Bell $8,900 DraftKings / $9,500 FanDuel (11th)
Continuing the love for the Toyota’s, Bell is coming off his first win of the season last week and is primed to deliver once again for DFS players this weekend. He posted strong practice speeds and has been a solid finisher at similar tracks this year. His starting position won’t make him stick out as much and I want to take advantage of this in tournaments.

Kurt Busch $8,500 DraftKings / $9,000 FanDuel (10th)
What makes Kurt an interesting play here is the fact that he wrecked in qualifying and will be going to a back-up car dropping to the rear of the field. This should keep his ownership down despite being fast in practice and once again, I’ll be looking to target all the Toyota’s this weekend.
Daniel Suarez $7,900 DraftKings / $8,000 FanDuel (9th)Â
Being priced around several popular place differential plays will help suppress ownership on Suarez this weekend despite him having a fast car on Saturday. Trackhouse has proven they can bring speed week in and week out and I would not be surprised by a top 8-10 run from Suarez the majority of the day.
Bubba Wallace $7,500 DraftKings / $7,500 FanDuel (7th)Â
Similar thesis to Kurt Busch above besides the fact that Wallace didn’t wreck out during qualifying and can keep his track position to start the race. Bubba tends to be the forgotten about Toyota but he finished top five here last season and has shown he can hang around the front when given a fast car.
Looking forward to seeing where Bubba ends up in the Stokastic NASCAR DFS projections tomorrow, but I think he’ll shape up as a great value play.
