Last night was an interesting six-game slate with two games starting three hours after lock. DraftKings held a $20 to enter, $100K-to-first GPP with 23,529 entries available called the NBA $400K Shootaround. The winner used a single bullet, and a 150-maxer took three of the top five spots. DraftKings took $70,580 in rake while paying ninth- and 10th-place finishers $2,000. Let’s get into the NBA daily fantasy lineup review.
NBA Daily Fantasy DraftKings GPP Lineup Review | March 21
In this NBA DraftKings GPP, 23,529 total entries came from 8,247 different DFS players. That is about 6,000 fewer entries and 2,500 fewer DFS players involved compared to earlier this month. The tournaments are getting smaller and more top heavy in the second half of the season as they always do. Combine that with fewer fish in the water for the sharks, and it is dangerous waters right now. Only 6% of players made a profit in this GPP last night, which is less than the 15% on average just last month. These are important facts; watch your bankroll right now and practice good contest selection. Maybe this is finally the time to check out SuperDraft and its nightly overlay.
The Winner
Big congratulations to InsertCleverPhrase for entering a single bullet and taking this GPP down with a 327.25. That is a profit of $99,980 on the night. The winning lineup used all $50,000 salary and had a cumulative team ownership of 164%. The lowest-owned player was Chris Paul. I saw several people speculating that Paul could be rested last night, but he put up 54.5 fantasy points for $7,400 (7.4x) at 4.7% ownership. Combine that performance with Isaac Okoro (7.8x), and this entry was well on its way to winning.

Salary and Ownership
Eight of the top 50 finishers used less than $49,700. Here are the top salaries used last night:
- $50,000 | 51%
- $49,900 | 24%
- $49,800 | 11%
- $49,700 | 6%
- $49,600 | 3%
The most popular optimal lineup was played 32 times. The lineup used $49,900 team salary, had a cumulative team ownership of 210.4% and min cashed (2x) with a 278.75. Chalk Alex Caruso was the biggest failure at only $3,300, so it did not hurt too much.
The 150-Maxers
Forty-nine 150-maxers played last night, entering 7,350 lineups and making up 31.2% of entries in this tournament. Only five made a profit, while 22 cashed 20 lineups or fewer. All in all, it was a tough slate for 150-maxers. Two profited very nicely, though.
jblaketheking added $17,930 to his coffers with a 3rd place finish but the undisputed 150-maxer champ last night was Cenzamatic. Cashing 122 of 150 while taking second, fourth and fifth for a profit of $62,655.65, Cenzamatic dominated last night thanks to 70%-plus exposure to Alex Len, Kyrie Irving and Talen Horton-Tucker. His second-place lineup fell 1 point short of the winner:
Miscellaneous
Boom of the slate goes to Len, who provided 36.25 fantasy points for $3,700 at 19.6% ownership. Bust of the slate I will give to Markieff Morris, who disappointed 40.2% of entries with a 14.5-fantasy-point performance for $3,900.
Only 59 lineups were reserved and not played. The lowest-owned lineup that cashed (min-cashed) featured cumulative team ownership of 39.6%.
The lowest-salary team that cashed (min-cashed) used $48,500 team salary:
The best single-entry lineup took first place as we know, but a different single entry tied Cenzamatic for fifth with a 324.25:
With hindsight, we know the best lineup possible would have scored a 360.75 and won this GPP by 33.5 points:
