Day 2 of the League of Legends World Championship 2021 brings us more LoL DFS action. DraftKings offers another solid slate for League of Legends DFS today. Let’s break down the eight teams and dig into some of the best LoL DFS picks for Day 2 of the World Championship.
LoL DFS Picks: DraftKings World Championship Day 2
INFINITY ESPORTS
After finding early success in game one against RED, INF quickly saw the bottom drop out into a comfortable loss, and their game against HLE went no better. Fortunately PCE is a beatable opponent tonight, and if INF can create an early lead like in their first game, success could follow. Unsurprisingly, Whitelotus was the strongest looking player in the first set of games, and if he maintains aggression, he presents himself as a nice LoL DFS option in a must win game for INF.
PEACE
Perhaps the best part about taking chances on PCE this slate is the fact that nobody really knows what they are supposed to look like, as their opener against LNG was predictably one sided. There were pockets of success within that game though, and if PCE becomes an overlooked LoL DFS asset tonight, then they will be a team to strongly consider, with Babip as a player capable of finding early action.
RED CANIDS
Unfortunately, there is one greatly mismatched game on this slate, and it comes in the form of RED taking on HLE. For RED to be competitive, they are going to need to come out of a likely slower paced HLE early game not down too much, which is difficult to envision, but if they are successful, Guigo possibly could be a beneficiary from a weak HLE top side.
HANWHA LIFE ESPORTS
Anything other than a HLE stomp will be very surprising, although as seen in their win against INF, they have no issues sleepwalking to victory, which tends to be a negative for LoL DFS. HLE remains the safest play on this slate though, and while it is more than viable to hope this is more of a slog, it is incredibly difficult to not love the position Chovy is in tonight.
BEYOND GAMING
For some reason BYG decided they wanted to open Worlds 2021 by subbing in PK instead of Liang who played the entirety of playoffs, and most of the regular season. Regardless, both players have negative matchups into Fudge tonight, and while collectively BYG does not have a massive favorable matchup anywhere on the map, they are still collectively a solid team. HuSha has the easiest way to disrupt C9, as getting Blaber behind opens the door for BYG success, potentially at minimal ownership.
CLOUD 9
Even though they played only once, C9 dismantled a team which gave them fits at MSI in DFM. C9 in good form is a scary team, as even though they can tilt themselves out of games, there should be nothing but full focus in potentially their most important game of play-ins. Perkz is a player with ample international experience, and in their opening match he had a masterclass performance, netting eight kills, making him a great LoL DFS option tonight.
GALATASARAY ESPORTS
Likely the most unexpected performances from day one came from GS, and if they maintain their level of play from day one, it is easy to envision them being an incredibly popular underdog tonight. Bolulu is a solid choice from GS tonight, as in both games from the first day, he was on a champion that facilitates plays around the match, and if he finds his way onto one of those champions tonight, there’s possibilities for a high kill participation (KP) game.
DETONATION FOCUSME
Entering Worlds 2021 as one of the more hyped minor regions teams, DFM ended day one 1-1, and while that is a fair reflection of the games played, LoL DFS players would have liked to see a more competitive game against C9. As their lone game of day two, DFM finds themselves in a potentially tricky spot against GS, although they are still correctly small favorites. Yutapon can put up a nice LoL DFS score tonight, and there’s potential that DFM becomes the overlooked squad tonight against GS.
Favorite Pick
JNG – Willer. Naturally Chovy is the easiest individual to look at from HLE, but Willer is still likely to be involved in action early, should it exist, making him an alluring LoL DFS option tonight.
Favorite Contrarian Pick
INF/Peace-While opening games tend to be moderately popular, tonight might offer a weird situation where both teams get just a tad overlooked, in a must win game for likely two 0-2 teams.
