Greetings Gamers! Welcome to the Tuesday slate as we have one of the largest totals we have ever seen in Coors Field as the Giants take on the Rockies for a third straight game. You don’t need me to tell you about that analysis, so let’s look at some alternative teams – one for each slate.

If you haven’t signed up for Yahoo Fantasy DFS, click this link and use the promo code Awesemo when making your first deposit and you will be eligible for $30 of “free play” which Yahoo will match through the first $30 of your deposit (this bonus will be received in Yahoo Sports Rewards Points aka YSRP which can be used to enter any paid contest immediately).

Main Slate

Washington Nationals at RHP Asher Wojciechowski – 6.5 implied runs

The Beltway Series is always a fun one here in the DC area as the players really do not have to travel far. It’s an added bonus when the Nationals get to play in Camden Yards which is a much more hitting friendly environment than what they have at home and they get the designated hitter slot which is always nice because they can play both Ryan Zimmerman and Matt Adams.

The weather is down into the mid-80s but the humidity is up to 70-75% so the ball should be jumping, particularly with RHP Asher Wojciechowski on the mound and in the rotation for at least another turn or two with Andrew Cashner traded to Boston on Sunday and Dylan Bundy on the injured list.

Wojciechowski had cups of coffee in 2015 with the Astros (16.1 innings), 2017 with Cincinnati (62.1 innings) and now with the Orioles for a total of 89.0 career innings with a 6.57 ERA, 1.52 WHIP, with a solid 94 strikeouts, but shooting himself in the foot with 18 home runs allowed… so hey, he fits right in with Baltimore.

Our preference when considering price, position eligibility and potential production should be Juan Soto, Anthony Rendon, Matt Adams, Trea Turner, Ryan Zimmerman, Howie Kendrick, Adam Eaton, Victor Robles, Brian Dozierand the catcher.

Evening Slate

Minnesota Twins vs LHP Steven Matz – 5.4 implied run total

For his price point on DraftKings, FantasyDraft and Yahoo, there is a chance that gamers may talk themselves into LHP Steven Matz in an effort to work in extra Coors Field hitters on Tuesday.  The Twins are among the best teams in the league against southpaws with a 124 wRC+ (weighted runs created plus is and advanced metric that neutralizes park factors and creates a league-wide scoring efficiency baseline of 100) meaning they score 24% more than the average team does against lefties.

Keep an eye on the weather, but this potentially an intriguing leverage play against the popularity of Matz with Nelson Cruz, Mitch Garver, Miguel Sano, Marwin Gonzalez, Max Kepler, Byron Buxton and Jorge Polanco.

Late Slate

Seattle Mariners at RHP Daniel Mengden – 4.1 implied run total

With only four teams in the nightcap game set, we do not have a lot of options available, so going with the Mariners who are not really household names at this point after trading away most of their talent last winter (Robinson Cano) and then more this season (Edwin Encarnacion, Jay Bruce) and a couple of untimely injuries (Mitch Hanigar, Ryon Healy) they are scraping the bottom of the barrel.  Fortunately, they do have a couple of solid lefties in Dan Vogelbach and Omar Narvaez who do have some pop in their bats, Mallex Smith and J.P. Crawford have both been getting timely hits and then Domingo Santana has been far better than advertised…

Despite all these kind words from a life-long Mariners fan, looking for a three-man stack on the late slate is probably the most we would want to look to – and only if you are playing A LOT of lineups would I consider Seattle hitters on the main slate.

Regardless of who gets the ball in the first inning, we should see several members of the bullpen keeping in mind that on Saturday and Sunday, the Rockies allowed 26 runs to the Cincinnati Reds.
