Top 2021 Fantasy Football League Winners: Running Back

Aaron Jones, Packers — 18.71 PPR Fantasy Points Per Game

Jones rates out well in Awesemo Fantasy Football Rankings for the season. He enters the season as the eighth ranked running back. For the playoffs, he projects as the fourth overall running back. The only backs projected ahead of him are Christian McCaffrey, Dalvin Cook and Derrick Henry. Of those names, he only projects .02 fantasy points worse than Henry. Jones gets a 3% and a 9.4% scoring boost for the final two weeks of the fantasy playoffs, vaulting him over big names like Alvin Kamara and Saquon Barkley in the projections to close the season.

Chris Carson, Seahawks — 16.52 PPR Fantasy Points Per Game

Carson makes this list for the exact same reason that Russell Wilson made the quarterback strength of schedule article. Seattle closes out its fantasy season with a matchup against the Lions. Not only do the Lions project to have a terrible defense, this sets up as a great game script for Carson. Assuming Seattle can get out to a big lead, Carson could get a heavy workload grinding out the clock in the fourth quarter. The result is Carson getting a 12.1% projection boost for the Fantasy Football Championship week.

Damien Harris, Patriots — 14.96 PPR Fantasy Points Per Game

Harris gets the biggest total bump of any running back for the fantasy playoffs. He draws the Jaguars in Week 17 and the Bills in Week 16. Even if the Bills’ defense is solid, their expected pace of play makes this a favorable fantasy matchup. This gives Harris an aggregate 24.3% boost to his projection across the final two weeks of the fantasy football playoffs. Arguably, this makes him one of the most important sleepers to win fantasy leagues. His draft stock is up after the Patriots got rid of Sony Michel but there is still upside in drafting Harris.
