Fantasy Football Sleepers: Awesemo’s Top Three Tight End Sleepers

The tight end position used to be touchdown or bust. However, after the New England Patriots really changed the way the position can be used, we have seen teams across the NFL use tight ends in the passing game more and occasionally even feature them. Now, the position is deeper than it has every been, creating many potential fantasy football sleepers for 2020. Using Awesemo’s season-long rankings and consensus ADP, these are the top three tight end sleepers for the 2020 fantasy season.

Tired of the industry consensus and of the hot take machine? How about a data driven approach for a change? The world’s No. 1 daily fantasy player has put his projections talents to work, creating Awesemo’s first ever Fantasy Football Draft Kit. In it, users will receive access to:

Awesemo’s Fantasy Football Sleepers: Top Three Tight Ends

Hayden Hurst, Atlanta Falcons

Awesemo Rank: 85 | ADP: 105

After struggling to find targets last season with the Ravens, Hurst now finds himself as the starting tight end for the Falcons. Last season, Atlanta produced the TE6, Austin Hooper. He was TE3 on a per-game basis. Hooper is not a generational talent, so it would make sense to see a similar level of production from Hurst, the former first-round draft pick. That is certainly what Awesemo’s ranking is predicting, making him among the top fantasy football sleepers this season. Hurst is #1 in Awesemo’s TE Fantasy Football Sleepers ranks.

Blake Jarwin, Dallas Cowboys

Awesemo Rank: 152 | ADP: 164

Long-time Cowboys tight end Jason Witten is gone, making  Jarwin the true starter. Jarwin only saw the field for 38.72% of the offensive snaps in 2019, while Witten was out there for over 75%. Assuming Jarwin can get around 60% of the snaps, he should essentially fall into better production without needing to do much. He did, however, prove to be a player that can find seams and help spread the field for Dallas, showing his athleticism. Jarwin averaged 11.8 yards per catch, so the upside is there if the targets find him. Jarwin is #2 in Awesemo’s TE Fantasy Football Sleepers ranks.

Gerald Everett, Los Angeles Rams

Awesemo Rank: 182 | ADP: 258

Gerald Everett had his ups and downs last season, but he ultimately finds himself behind Tyler Higbee on the Rams depth chart. Everett saw double-digit targets three different times last season when Higbee was either sidelined or limited. If he were to miss more time this season, we can expect a similar result for Everett. If both tight ends are healthy and active, Everett will likely only see a few targets per game. Still, those targets and his potential upside make him a fantasy football sleeper at tight end. Everett is #3 in Awesemo’s TE Fantasy Football Sleepers ranks.
