Fantasy Football Deep Sleepers 2021: Top 3 Wide Receivers

Tyrell Williams, Detroit Lions

Awesemo Rank: 114

Average Draft Position: 197.8

The Lions’ new-look offense now led by Jared Goff under center has made for a bevy of question marks among drafters, seeing key members like Tyrell Williams dip far beneath projected value. Awesemo ranks Williams at 114, between Jerry Jeudy and Michael Gallup, yet he is slipping to an ADP of 197.8 according to Awesemo’s Fantasy Football Sleepers Tool. Awesemo ranks Williams in the range of Noah Fant and Matthew Stafford, projecting him for 9.76 fantasy points per game as Detroit’s presumed top receiving option. However, recent drafts have seen Williams slide down a couple tiers, making a top sleeper pick.

Emmanuel Sanders, Buffalo Bills

Awesemo Rank: 152

Average Draft Position: 187.3

Buffalo’s receiving corps has lost little but gained a lot in veteran Emmanuel Sanders taking over for John Brown. Awesemo’s Fantasy Football Sleepers Tool ranks 35.3 spots higher than his ADP, and his projections place him in line with some high-upside receivers like Jaylen Waddle and Elijah Moore. Sanders also projects for 9.02 fantasy points per game and should be the top Buffalo option outside of Stefon Diggs. However, drafts this season have seen him selected in the same range as Amon-Ra St. Brown and Christian Kirk. Last season with New Orleans Sanders caught 61 passes for 726 yards and five touchdowns.

Laviska Shenault Jr, Jacksonville Jaguars

Awesemo Rank: 77

Average Draft Position: 107.3

Laviska Shenault Jr is not that deep of a sleeper, but he still deserves mention in the regard of tumbling down draft boards. With a preseason rapport forged with Trevor Lawrence, Shenault has been undervalued in drafts to this point; Awesemo’s Fantasy Football Sleepers Tool places him 30.3 spots higher than his ADP. He projects for 10.99 fantasy points per game, yet drafters on average place him in the range of Jarvis Landry, Kenyan Drake and the Buccaneers DST. In his rookie season Shenault managed 600 yards and five touchdowns on 58 receptions, and that was without the No. 1 pick as his quarterback. With Lawrence throwing him passes, Shenault’s numbers should drastically improve.
