Thursday, June 2, brings more split-slate action along with a six-game main slate starting at 7:05 p.m. ET. Let’s get into the top MLB DFS picks today for pitchers and stacks for DraftKings and FanDuel daily fantasy baseball lineups.
DraftKings & FanDuel MLB DFS Picks Today (6/2)
Top MLB DFS Stack: Padres at RHP Adrian Houser — 4.3 implied runs
San Diego presents a nice mix of value, upside, leverage and matchup in the Awesemo Stack Tool. Adrian Houser is a fine real-life pitcher, but he has uneven performances and a better strikeout reputation than reality. The Padres have their production mostly consolidated in the top of their lineup, so we can be very strategic about which batters we focus on. They present a nice complementary stack to the Coors Field Extravaganza and a contrarian main stack. Across his last 762 combined batters faced, Houser has a high 10.5% walk rate with a low 17.8% strikeout rate, though his 56.1% ground ball rate does bail him out of trouble a lot of the time.
Manny Machado and former Yankee Luke Voit have both excelled in their careers, with a .205 or better ISO against same-handed pitching. Jurickson Profar and Eric Hosmer are the lefties who excel at getting on base, and they have enough gap power to add in extra-base hits with their own RBI potential.
Late Slate: Dodgers vs. Taijuan Walker — 5.0 implied runs
This is a cherry matchup for the Dodgers going against Taijuan Walker, who never quite lived up to all of his early potential after a myriad of injuries impacted his career trajectory. Over the last five seasons, Walker has appeared in only 52 games. To his credit, Walker does a good job of limiting power, but he does allow contact. That could be detrimental based on the number of Dodgers rising up the ranks in the Awesemo Top Batters Tool. Will Smith, Mookie Betts and Trea Turner are all at the top of their respective positions today, and Freddie Freeman and Justin Turner are both top three.

Best MLB DFS Pitchers Today
Top Target: LHP Sean Manaea at Brewers — 4.0 implied runs
- DFS Salary: DraftKings $9,700 | FanDuel $10,200
Yikes! That is the assessment of the top pitching options for the main slate. That means tournaments are wide open and should be a wild ride. However, those who are looking for safe options tonight, they simply do not exist. Weather conditions in New York may take the Yankees and Angels off the table, which means Sean Manaea and Tony Gonsolin are the most polished pitchers available. Gonsolin is at home but going against a strong Mets lineup. Manaea is on the road, and while the Brew Crew will put as many right-handers in the lineup as possible, Manaea faces that situation in nearly every start. Over his last 704 opposite-handed matchups, Manaea has a 23.7% strikeout rate, and the projected Milwaukee lineup is coming in well above league average with a collective 25.2% against southpaws over the last season and change.
Secondary Target: LHP Matthew Liberatore at Cubs — 3.4 implied runs
- DFS Salary: DraftKings $7,300 | FanDuel $8,000
St. Louis pitching phenom Matthew Liberatore had one rough outing against the Pirates in Pittsburgh for his debut, though he righted the ship against the Brewers in his first home start on Saturday. The Awesemo MLB DFS projections are giving a solid projection for the 22-year-old, and he has both a forgiving salary and a decent matchup against the Cubs. Chicago has plenty of right-handed hitters they will be rolling out against Liberatore, though if he can navigate the power of Willson Contreras (.291 ISO, 23.1 K%), Patrick Wisdom (.301 ISO, 40.9 K%), Frank Schwindel (.274 ISO, 17.1 K%) and Ian Happ (.147 ISO, 29.7 K%), the overall projected lineup has an above-average 23.8% strikeout rate against lefties dating back to the beginning of last season.
Additional Opportunities
Jordan Lyles is taking on the Mariners tonight, and he has a strikeout total of 3.5 over/under for his strikeouts in the MLB player props market. Currently, the Awesemo projections have him for 4.8 strikeouts in this matchup. This indicates that there is a healthy 72% probability of him surpassing the over. Seattle’s projected lineup has a 24.8% strikeout rate against right-handed pitchers, which is above league average. The cherry on top is Lyles himself, as he has recorded five or more strikeouts in five if his last six appearances.

Final MLB DFS Thoughts & MLB Weather Notes
Both of the doubleheader games between the Angels and Yankees in New York are looking at rain throughout both games. Keep an eye on how your DFS site of choice is handling each of the doubleheaders and what happens if only one of the games gets played today. Baltimore is looking at some roving thunderstorms, but it is hard to tell this far away from first pitch if they will end up impacting Camden Yards.
