All-Star Race NASCAR DFS Tournament & GPP Picks | DraftKings & FanDuel Fantasy Racing

The field has been set for Sunday’s All-Star race at Texas after teams flashed their speed during the pit stop and one lap shootout competition on Saturday evening to kick off this weekend’s event. With Kyle Busch and Ryan Blaney leading the field to green for the All-Star race, let’s dive into this weekend’s top NASCAR DFS tournament picks.

NASCAR DFS GPP Picks Today: Texas Motor Speedway

The All-Star race is finally upon us this weekend at Texas Motor Speedway and this will present NASCAR DFS players with an interesting twist compared to normal mile and a half race tracks. Texas is comparable to several tracks in the series and we can even draw comparisons from last weeks race at Kansas Speedway. But keep in mind, we’ve seen a lot of high tire wear venues recently and Texas was recently repaved making tire wear a non issue. The lack of laps and four stages will make dominators not as appealing as they normally would at a cookie-cutter, mile-and-a-half track, but they should still be regarded in your lineups as we will more than likely see at least one in the optimal lineup on Sunday.

Top Driver Picks & Projections

Kyle Larson $10,000 DK / $13,500 FD (4th)

Kyle Busch is going to garner heavy attention up top as he earned the pole position on Saturday, but that makes for a great opportunity to grab Larson at lower ownership. He hasn’t had the best car this year, but he’s still racing up first and second place finishes at intermediates during every race at them so far this season. Larson also had the best 10 lap run in practice and these tracks have certainly been his bread and butter. With him winning two of these events in a row, he’s looking to become the first ever to three-peat.

William Byron $8,800 DK / $12,000 (3rd)

Billy B has had some horrendous luck in recent weeks, but don’t let the bad finishes fool you, he’s been running very well. He was on track to win at Darlington two weeks ago before getting punted at the end. And the following week at Kansas he was running up front before a flat tire knocked him out of contention early on. Average green flag speed wise says he’s been one of the fastest cars at the intermediates this season and his starting spot will keep his ownership down even though he’s in a good spot to potentially get up front.

Ross Chastain: $8,600 DraftKings/$11,000 FanDuel (6th)

Chastain has not been a driver to fade this year as he has been having a career year thus far, placing him in elite company even though his price doesn’t fully reflect it. The watermelon man has been fast at all track types this year and has shown tremendous speed at the intermediates in specific. After a strong showing during practice, he is firmly in dominator territory.

Ryan Blaney $7,900 DK / $10,000 FD (2nd)

Not many people like loading up on the front two drivers, so Ryan Blaney will naturally find himself at lower ownership. Plus the Ford’s have not very strong of late and could very well have trouble keeping up with Chevy and Toyota for a while. But, Blaney is the one I believe has the ability to have top shelf speed as indicated in his practice speeds being up near the top of the charts. Texas has also been one of Blaney’s best tracks and he currently has the best average green flag speed rating at similar track types.

Kurt Busch $7,000 DK / $8,000 (5th)

Busch broke the slate last week as he dunked on the competition with nearly 110 fantasy points after bringing home the win in the Jump-man car. And while I’m not as high on him as I was last weekend, he is once again in a very similar spot and looks like he has a decent enough car to hang around the top five to eight for the majority of the race. He is just once again too cheap and I would certainly look to buy in again.
