Expert NBA DFS Picks (February 16)
Milwaukee Bucks vs. Chicago Bulls
The Milwaukee Bucks will be without Pat Connaughton, which means one of MarJon Beauchamp, Jevon Carter, Wes Matthews, or Joe Ingles will likely step into the starting lineup. These players are low-priority value options and should only be considered as a punt play. The main priorities for the Bucks are Giannis Antetokounmpo, Khris Middleton, and Jrue Holiday. Grayson Allen and Brook Lopez are secondary plays, and their production will depend on the performance of the primary options.
On the other side of the court, the Bulls’ injury report will be crucial to determine the value of their players. Zach LaVine and Nikola Vucevic look very good if DeMar DeRozan is out, and there is potential backcourt value amongst Alex Caruso, Ayo Dosunmu, and Coby White, depending on the injury report.
Edit: Jones, Caruso and DeRozan all out.
Washington Wizards vs. Minnesota Timberwolves
The Washington Wizards’ starters are all reasonable secondary options, with Kyle Kuzma and Kristaps Porzingis looking like the best plays. Delon Wright is an interesting GPP flier if he is low owned, as he closed last game alongside Monte Morris.
The Minnesota Timberwolves will have one of the top plays on the slate in Anthony Edwards. The center position is also a strong play, with either Rudy Gobert (questionable) or Naz Reid starting. Gobert’s offensive production is expected to increase going forward due to the addition of Mike Conley, who is a strong value option at guard. Inexpensive options to round out a lineup include Kyle Anderson, Taurean Prince, and Jaden McDaniels.
Los Angeles Clippers vs. Phoenix Suns
The LA Clippers have no priorities and are not the strongest play on the slate. Paul George and Kawhi Leonard are viable options if you need lower ownership, but they project worse than Edwards. The absence of Norman Powell does not guarantee a bump for any player, but it does open a path to more minutes for a combination of Bones Hyland, Terance Mann, and/or Nicolas Batum.
The Phoenix Suns have a strong value play in Josh Okogie, who played nearly 40 minutes last game. Even with a low-30s minute projection, he is still a strong value. Chris Paul is a lower-owned pivot to Jrue Holiday, and Deandre Ayton is a strong center option.
