NBA Fantasy: Boom Bust Tool Projections for DraftKings & FanDuel Lineups Today | 12/18/21

We have a mid-sized NBA fantasy slate today, with one game early and six on the main slate. With this, there is injury news you will need to pay attention to. The Awesemo NBA Starting Lineups page will give you breaking news when starters are announced as well as a full injury report on players who might be missing in action. Below are some NBA daily fantasy options that stand out for tonight’s slate using Awesemo Boom/Bust Tool and NBA DFS projections.

NBA Fantasy Projections & Optimal Lineup Picks Tonight

Top Boom Candidates

Juan Tuscano-Anderson: $3,200 DraftKings/$3,700 FanDuel | 73.5% DraftKings Boom/62.2% FanDuel Boom

The Warriors are using tonight’s game against the Raptors as a rest opportunity. This means Stephen Curry, Andrew Wiggins, Draymond Green and Jordan Poole are all out of the lineup. Clearly, many bench players will be playing massive minutes tonight. It makes sense to have exposure to some of the players that have performed well with larger minutes in the past, and Juan Tuscano-Anderson is one of those guys. Awesemo projects Tuscano-Anderson as the top overall value play on DraftKings tonight and the second-best on FanDuel.

Robin Lopez: $3,300 DraftKings/$3,800 FanDuel | 73.2% DraftKings Boom/63.2% FanDuel Boom

The frontcourt for the Magic will be shorthanded tonight. Mo Bamba and Morwitz Wagner have already been ruled out, while Wendell Carter Jr. is considered doubtful to play. This means the veteran Lopez will be asked to play big minutes against the Nets, who have their own issues in the frontcourt. Due to the increased minutes and his cheap price tag, Awesemo projects Lopez to be the top overall value play on FanDuel tonight and the second-best on DraftKings.

DeMarcus Cousins: $3,800 DraftKings/$3,800 FanDuel | 44.9% DraftKings Boom/42.2% FanDuel Boom

Speaking of shorthanded frontcourts, the Bucks will be without Giannis Antetokounmpo, Bobby Portis and Brook Lopez, which means the newly signed DeMarcus Cousins will be asked to play a large role in tonight’s game against the Cavaliers. He was in the same scenario last game. However, due to early foul trouble, he was limited to only 16 minutes, totaling nine points, six rebounds and two assists. This is good for us tonight, as some of those who were burned by him last game may not play him again. Assuming he stays out of foul trouble, he should be a good play. Awesemo projects 21.8 minutes out of the veteran center tonight.

Top Bust Candidates

Marcus Morris Sr.: $5,700 DraftKings/$6,000 FanDuel | 54.2% DraftKings Bust/65.4% FanDuel Bust

Marcus Morris Sr. was pushed into relevancy due to the injury of Paul George. He has been really good the past two games. However, this has resulted in a price increase. So, even if George continues to be sidelined tonight, Morris has a high likelihood to be a bust, given the price increase. However, George could find his way back onto the floor, completely crushing Morris’ NBA fantasy value. George is currently considered questionable with his elbow injury, while Nicolas Batum is questionable to return from an ankle injury.
