NBA Fantasy: Boom Bust Tool Projections for DraftKings + FanDuel Lineups | Today 12/8

On the schedule for Wednesday night is a huge 13-game slate, and with 26 teams competing, NBA fantasy lineups on DraftKings and FanDuel will be flush with high-level talent and value plays. The Awesemo NBA Starting Lineups page will provide breaking news when starters are announced as well as a full injury report on players who might be missing in action. Below are some NBA daily fantasy options that stand out for tonight’s slate using Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool and NBA DFS projections.

NBA Fantasy Projections & Optimal Lineup Picks Tonight

Boom: Tyler Herro: $7,000 DraftKings/$6,800 FanDuel

39.3% DraftKings Boom/31.6% FanDuel Boom

On both DraftKings and FanDuel Herro is underpriced for his huge role with Bam Adebayo (thumb) and Jimmy Butler (tailbone) on the shelf. Herro has averaged 36 DraftKings points per gam in the four games these two starters have missed this season. Furthermore, when Adebayo and Butler have been off the floor this season, Herro has led the Heat with a 31.1% usage rate and 1.1 DraftKings points per minute.

Tonight Miami will face the Bucks, and this matchup carries the fourth-highest total on the slate (216.5 points). Herro has already faced Milwaukee twice this season and is averaging 40.6 DraftKings points per game against the defending champions. Awesemo’s Boom Bust Tool is giving Herro a ceiling over 40 fantasy points, and he has a top-five boom score on the slate for both DraftKings and FanDuel.

Boom: Ayo Dosunmu: $3,900 DraftKings/$4,800 FanDuel

38.6% DraftKings Boom/20% FanDuel Boom

With DeMar DeRozan (health protocols), Alex Caruso (doubtful, hamstring), Coby White (health protocols) and Javonte Green (health protocols) all inactive Sunday, Dosunmu got the first start of his career and delivered 31.5 DraftKings points across 41.5 minutes against the Nuggets. Not only was this the most playing time any player on the Bulls received, but Chicago also got the win with Dosunmu playing such a large role.

In addition to those four players listed above, Matt Thomas (heath protocols) will also be unavailable for the Bulls tonight, and Awesemo is projecting Dosunmu for 37.6 minutes against the Cavaliers. Dosunmu is scoring 0.7 DraftKings points per minute this season, and based off sheer volume he should easily produce over 5x value at his low DraftKings salary. According to Awesemo’s projections, Dosunmu is the No. 1 value on the board for DraftKings tonight.

Dosunmu project to be one of the best value plays on the entire NBA DFS slate tonight. Zach Brunner analyzes what makes him such a great play with the help of the Awesemo premium tools in his NBA DFS Picks, Grades & Values article for Wednesday.

Boom: Cody Martin: $5,000 DraftKings/$5,000 FanDuel

25.3% DraftKings Boom/29.8% FanDuel Boom

Martin is another value play that needs to be utilized with his team short-handed. LaMelo Ball, Terry Rozier, Ish Smith, Mason Plumlee and Jalen McDaniels will be out tonight due to health protocols, and with this same group missing Sunday, Martin started for the Hornets and posted 26.5 DraftKings points in 42 minutes against the 76ers. Charlotte used a tight eight-man rotation, and Martin should be forced to handle over 40 minutes again in tonight’s rematch with Philadelphia.

Albeit a small sample of only 58 minutes, Martin has a 21.9% usage rate and 0.9 DraftKings points per minute with all these players off the floor this season. The 76ers rank 19th in defensive efficiency, and at an even $5,000 on both DraftKings and FanDuel, Martin is a great inexpensive option to consider for both cash games and GPPs.

Boom: Rudy Gobert: $8,500 DraftKings/$8,800 FanDuel

25.8% DraftKings Boom/26.6% FanDuel Boom

Gobert is in an excellent spot tonight against the Timberwolves. Minnesota ranks fifth in pace, and they are allowing the most rebounds in the league. Additionally, this game’s total is the third highest on slate (220 points), and Utah’s implied team total is the fourth largest on the board (113.5 points). Gobert has provided 44 DraftKings points per game in the 10 totals of at least 220 points that he has played in this season, eclipsing 40 DraftKings points at a 70% clip.

As always, Gobert should not be too popular in GPPs, and Awesemo’s projections projects him as the best value over $8,000 on DraftKings and FanDuel.
