There is a small four-game NBA fantasy slate tonight. Despite that, NBA DFS injury news will be a big part of tonight’s process. Be sure to check the Awesemo NBA Starting Lineups page to see who is in, who is out and who is starting as news breaks, and look at the NBA DFS rankings and projections for both DraftKings and FanDuel lineups.
NBA Daily Fantasy Picks: Awesemo Grades | Dec. 16
*Grades are ordered DraftKings, FanDuel. Initial grade indicates a player’s strength of output, with the value grade indicating their strength as a play in relation to their salary.
PG Derrick Rose — Grades: B, B | Values: B, A
The Knicks should continue asking Derrick Rose to play a bunch of minutes tonight, and the matchup against Houston points to him using these minutes to the fullest. Houston ranks 21st against his position this season, and the Rockets have plenty of players out tonight. Rose should be able to score at will. He is a high-ceiling, high-floor play tonight.
PF Alperen Sengun — Grades: B, B | Values: A, A
Starting Rockets center Christian Wood was out last night, and he is projected to miss tonight’s game as well. In his absence, the rookie Alperen Sengun saw an increased role and did not disappoint. He put up a 19-point double-double, adding five assists and three defensive stats as well. Sengun has scored 30 or more NBA DraftKings points in three straight games, and he should be able to do it once again tonight. Awesemo’s projections label Sengun as the second-best value play on both DraftKings and FanDuel tonight.
C Myles Turner — Grades: B, B | Values: B, A
It looks to be business as usual for the Pacers frontcourt tonight. However, the matchup against the Pistons is a strong one, and Myles Turner is still a bit undervalued. This is especially true on FanDuel, where he is a little bit cheaper. Detroit ranks 27th against Turner’s position, making this a strong play. The Pistons are also missing Jerami Grant, which means they are even weaker than usual. Turner will have plenty of rebounding opportunities tonight.

PG Raul Neto — Grades: D, D | Values: A, B
Raul Neto looks to be a salary-saving option for tonight’s slate. The Wizards expect Spencer Dinwiddie to be out for rest purposes, which would increase the role for Neto. With Dinwiddie projected out, Awesemo projects Neto to play 22.5 minutes tonight. Neto played three games earlier this month where he saw over 22 minutes. He averaged 9.7 points, 2.3 rebounds and 3.7 assists in these games, so he can certainly exceed value and help pay up for another expensive player tonight.
