NBA DFS Building Blocks Today: Tuesday, November 22

Core Play of the Day — Devin Booker: Phoenix Suns-Los Angeles Lakers

  • Stokastic’s Preliminary Point Projections: DraftKings: 45.95 | FanDuel: 44.47
  • Stokastic’s Preliminary Rostered Projections: DraftKings: 41.3% | FanDuel: 37.3%
  • DFS Salary: DraftKings: $9,300 | FanDuel: $9,900

Even though the Lakers have won three consecutive games, they have only five victories this season. Phoenix is treading water without Chris Paul who is expected to be out for at least two more games. In his stead, Devin Booker has stepped up with 36.9 minutes and 21.5 field goal attempts in the last six games. This has resulted in 28.3 points, 5.8 rebounds, 7.2 assists and 1.9 combined blocks and steals.

Los Angeles is playing a top-four pace with league average defense. Unfortunately, they do not have any lock down defenders, so this should be another matchup where Booker can thrive. LeBron James is questionable, and he has played only once in the last fortnight while dealing with an adductor injury. If he does play tonight, that likely would be a boost for Booker as it would mean the Lakers could keep the game closer and that would give the 26-year-old guard more opportunities to accrue fantasy production.

Cameron Payne has seen his salary continue to increase after moving into the starting lineup and he has been quite impressive as the Paul fill-in. In these six games he is averaging 33.2 minutes with 15.3 field goal attempts including 7.3 from beyond the arc. This has culminated in 20.2 points, 3.7 rebounds, 6.3 assists and 1.5 combined blocks and steals. Rolling with the Phoenix backcourt is a savvy strategy tonight.

Jaren Jackson Jr.: Memphis Grizzlies-Sacramento Kings

  • Stokastic’s Preliminary Point Projections: DraftKings: 34.87 | FanDuel: 35.74
  • Stokastic’s Preliminary Rostered Projections: DraftKings: 31.8% | FanDuel: 15.5%
  • DFS Salary: DraftKings: $6,400 | FanDuel: $8,200

FanDuel has aggressively increased the salary for Jaren Jackson Jr., though DraftKings is taking more of a wait and see approach. Ja Morant is unlikely to play as he continues to recover from a sprained ankle and of course Desmond Bane is on the shelf for the foreseeable future.

This means that Jackson should see a healthy increase in his offensive opportunities, and he could continue to see his minutes limit move up now that he has two games under his belt. If he can get to 27 or 28 minutes, he should be able to flirt with the 40-fantasy point plateau.

Gamers tend to assume Jackson racks up rebounds, but over his last 91 games, he has averaged just 5.9 per outing. On the other hand, he has been improving from 3-point range, which allows him to pile up fantasy production in those games where his shot if falling and he is corralling the caroms.

Tyus Jones is a strong option if he remains in the starting lineup and John Konchar is now just a tournament differentiator as his salary is at a season high after piling up nearly 80 fantasy points in his last two appearances.

Additional NBA DFS Building Blocks Picks Today – Sports Wagering Opportunities

Tonight, Deandre Ayton is an intriguing option with a 15.5 over/under line on his points prop for his matchup at home against the Lakers who are not a daunting defense. The Stokastic NBA player projections have him for 17.3 rebounds and a 63% likelihood that he surpasses this threshold. This wager also has a reasonable -107 cost for a 23% expected return on investment (xROI) per OddsShopper.

Brooklyn Nets-Philadelphia 76ers

Yes, it looks like Ben Simmons will be playing in Philadelphia tonight. Unfortunately for the 76ers, they are without their three best players as Joel Embiid, James Harden and Tyrese Maxey will all be on the sidelines tonight while recovering from their respective injuries.

Brooklyn is in flux as well since they have moved Simmons into the starting lineup and Kyrie Irving has completed his suspension. Nicolas Claxton missed the last game, but he will be available tonight, so it will be interesting to see if Simmons remains in a starting role.

The Nets are 7.5 road favorites, and the 218.5 projected point total could make it seem like this game is being played in quicksand. Kevin Durant is a player to target along with Simons and Irving, though this trio is best utilized in tournaments. The rest of the team does not possess much obvious upside with a completely healthy roster, but this is the NBA, and something could easily change with player availability.

On the flipside, Philadelphia is providing plenty of value with De’Anthony Melton, Shake Milton, Paul Reed and Georges Niang all moving into more prominent roles. Tobias Harris (hip) should return after missing the last two games and he is a priority play in all formats tonight.

Final Thoughts on NBA DFS Picks Today

Tonight, should be fun with games essentially tipping off every hour. That means keeping tabs on results and any breaking news can be a savvy strategy for those gamers who are diligent with late swap.
