High-End Tier
With only three games on tap, ownership is expected to be pretty concentrated, mostly leaving it up to the DFS player on who they want to use to differentiate themselves. First and foremost, Scottie Barnes is in a great spot against Chicago and looks to be severely under owned despite 49.50% of rosters expected to have him on DraftKings.
Averaging a respectable 33.8 DraftKings points per game to start the season, Barnes has seen that number come up a bit with Fred VanVleet missing the past two games, and with Pascal Siakam expected to miss at least two weeks, Barnes looks elite in all formats at $7,100. Projected to be optimal 59.90% of the time on DraftKings and 65.30% of the time on FanDuel, he offers really nice leverage across both sites despite projecting to be the chalkiest player on the slate.
With Bradley Beal out, Monte Morris also finds himself in a great spot tonight, and priced at $5,000 on DraftKings and $5,300 on FanDuel, he’s another really strong leverage play across both sites. Averaging 23.5 DraftKings points through Washington’s first nine games, Morris has been solid so far this season, and he should see a massive boost with Bradley Beal out tonight.
Despite being projected for 23.40% ownership on DraftKings and 23.50% on FanDuel, Morris is still projected to be severely under owned across both sites as he’s projected to be optimal 35.20% of the time on DraftKings and 32.80% of the time on FanDuel. Coming off an embarrassing loss to Brooklyn, expect to see the best the Wizards have to offer tonight in Memphis, and Morris stands out as a great leverage option across both sites.
One player that is rating poorly from a leverage perspective on DraftKings in Stokastic’s Boom Bust Tool and is worth fading tonight is Will Barton. With Beal out tonight, Barton is projected to be 37.50% owned on DraftKings with an optimal percentage of only 26.80%. Priced at only $4,200, it makes sense why Barton is getting love, but with other value plays like Chris Boucher and Rui Hachimura in better spots, it might be wise to stay away from Barton in tournaments.
Situations to Monitor
Aside from VanVleet being questionable again, there is only one big injury situation to monitor tonight. Zach LaVine, who is questionable due to left knee injury management, looks to be a game-time call on the front end of a back-to-back set. If he rests, DeMar DeRozan and Nikola Vucevic would both look better, and more minutes would presumably open up for Goran Dragic and Alex Caruso.Â
