NBA DFS Value: Leverage Picks & Optimizer Plays | Feb. 25
Despite there only being six games tonight, there are a few quality spend-up options to choose from on both DraftKings and FanDuel. As such, Charlotte point guard LaMelo Ball is going under-owned, and he looks like one of the top leverage plays on the slate.
Ball enters Saturday in great form — he has recorded at least 62 DraftKings points in three straight games. Ball is coming off a monster performance last night as well. He contributed 32 points, 10 rebounds, eight assists and two steals as the Hornets upset the Timberwolves in Minnesota. At only $10,400 at DraftKings, Ball is $600 cheaper than he was last night and he’s projected to be in only 4.2% of lineups on DraftKings tonight.
Basically the same price on FanDuel at $10,500, he’s projected for even less ownership there than on DraftKings. As of this writing, Ball is currently projected to be optimal 8.4% of the time on DraftKings and 7% of the time on FanDuel, offering strong leverage across both sites.

Staying in this same game, Miami guard Gabe Vincent is also getting overlooked tonight. At only $5,100 on DraftKings and $5,300 on FanDuel, Vincent has plenty of value. While Vincent is more of a solid player than a spectacular one, he is right there with LaMelo as leverage goes across both sites.
Despite playing in a great spot against a Charlotte defense that gives up loads of fantasy points to opposing guards, Vincent is projected for only 2.1% ownership on DraftKings and 8% ownership on FanDuel. Vincent should be optimal 6.3% of the time on DraftKings and 14.1% of the time on FanDuel. While Vincent might not pop in projections tonight, he offers surprisingly good leverage on both sites, and there’s a lot to like about him in tournaments.
On the other side of the coin, Brandon Clarke rates poorly from a leverage perspective on both DraftKings and FanDuel in Stokastic’s Boom/Bust Tool and might be worth fading. At only $4,600 on DraftKings, Clarke is projected to find himself in 36% of lineups with an optimal percentage of only 17.3%.
Assuming that he starts, Clarke is definitely in play at this price on DraftKings, but with other midrange players like Vincent and R.J. Barrett going under-owned, it might be wise to avoid him in large-field tournaments.
Situations to Monitor
As of this writing, the only situations to monitor are that of Utah forward Kelly Olynyk and San Antonio guard Tre Jones, who are both listed as questionable
