Lineup Rewind: Analyzing Last Night’s DraftKings NBA Main Slate GPP

Last night we had a three-game NBA DFS slate. The main DraftKings GPP was the NBA $500K Fadeaway ($100,000 to first, $15 to enter). It was an interesting slate, as we knew the day before that Kawhi Leonard, Paul George and Patrick Beverley would all be out with various ailments, so the sites priced up the secondary pieces of the Clippers in advance. Let’s get right into the NBA DraftKings Lineup review.

DFS Rewind: NBA DraftKings Lineup Review | Jan. 26

In this NBA DraftKings GPP, there were 39,215 total entries from 14,967 DFS players, 2,278 (15.2%) of which made a profit.

The Winner

Congratulations to Trimi007, who took this GPP down with just two entries, turning $30 into  $100,015. This lineup used $50,000 salary and had a cumulative team ownership of 269.8%. This is a beautiful, hand-built lineup and one that MME players should seek to emulate — a chalky lineup with two 5%-owned pieces on a three-game slate. Royce O’Neale and David Nwaba both put up very serviceable stat lines, showing that for this slate, you did not need to find that $3,000 player to make a build fit. This lineup scored a 318.5 and won the GPP by 1.75 points.

Miscellaneous

Boom of the slate goes to DeMarcus Cousins, who crushed as chalk. A whopping 79.2% of lineups rostered him, and he rewarded true believers with 50.25 fantasy points (8.4x) for $6,000, which was the best point-per-dollar value on the slate. Honorable mention goes to Austin Rivers at 8.1x, scoring 32.25 fantasy points for $4,000 at 0.2% ownership. Bust is a tough one, but it looks like Anthony Edwards, who put up 7.5 fantasy points (1.7x) for $4,500 at 18% ownership. Feeling much shame today would be Isaac Bonga, who scored 4.5 fantasy points at $4,100 (1.1x) for the 24.2% of players that rostered him.

One hundred and twenty-seven lineups were reserved and not played. The lowest-owned lineup that cashed (min-cashed) featured a cumulative team ownership of 82.3%:

The lowest-salary team that cashed (min-cashed) used $47,100 team salary:
