Coming off a small three-game Tuesday night slate, Wednesday offers a nice change of pace, with an 11-game slate beginning at 7 p.m. ET on both DraftKings and FanDuel. Let’s look at the player pool to discuss the top NBA DFS building blocks today for DraftKings and FanDuel lineups. NBA DFS Building Blocks Today: Wednesday, DecemberÂ
Core Play of the Day — Jordan Poole: Golden State Warriors-Utah Jazz
- Stokastic’s Preliminary Point Projections: DraftKings: 39.51 | FanDuel: 37.12
- Stokastic’s Preliminary Rostered Projections: DraftKings: 37.70% | FanDuel: 53.30%
- DFS Salary: DraftKings: $6,500 | FanDuel: $5,900
With Golden State ruling out Steph Curry, Draymond Green and Andrew Wiggins for tonight’s game against Utah, it should come as no surprise that Jordan Poole is going to be a core building block for lineups tonight. He gets a great matchup against the Jazz, and Poole should have the ball in his hands a ton tonight with Curry off the floor. Poole is one of the top value plays on the FanDuel slate at only $5,900, and despite being a bit more expensive on DraftKings, he still looks like one of the top points-per-dollar plays at any position.
Coming into tonight, Poole is averaging 28.3 DraftKings points per game, and the former Michigan star has been especially impressive recently, with at least 34 DraftKings points in each of the past three games. With 3/5 of the Warriors starting lineup sitting tonight, expect that trend to continue, as Poole is averaging 23.0 points, 4.5 assists and 1.5 steals in two games with Curry on the sidelines this season.
Core Play of the Day — Jonathan Kuminga: Golden State Warriors-Utah Jazz
- Stokastic’s Preliminary Point Projections: DraftKings: 32.20 | FanDuel: 31.38
- Stokastic’s Preliminary Rostered Projections: DraftKings: 61.70% | FanDuel: 49.30%
- DFS Salary: DraftKings: $3,400 | FanDuel: $4,000
While Poole might be the best midrange play on the slate, Jonathan Kuminga looks like the top value play at affordable price points on both DraftKings and FanDuel. He is matched up with a Utah team that gets destroyed by opposing forwards, and with both Draymond and Wiggins out for Golden State, Kuminga is way too cheap across both sites.
Additional NBA DFS Building Blocks Picks Today – Sports Wagering Opportunities
Tonight Jalen McDaniels has a 1.5 over/under line on his 3-pointers prop for his matchup against the Nets. Stokastic’s NBA DFS projections have him for 1.32 3-pointers and a 67% likelihood that he falls below this threshold. These types of wagers with a high likelihood of success but a lower payout upside are best used as a leg in a straight or same-game parlay.

Indiana Pacers-Minnesota Timberwolves
In what looks like the potential game of the night for NBA DFS, there is a lot to like on both Indiana and Minnesota tonight. For the Pacers, Tyrese Haliburton is questionable after missing the past two games with a groin injury. If Haliburton remains sidelined, everyone else on Indiana becomes more viable, with players like Andrew Nembhard and Buddy Hield seeing a huge uptick in usage. The player who gets the biggest boost, however, is T.J. McConnell, and he’s also questionable after missing the past two games with an illness. Myles Turner is also questionable after sitting out last game with a hamstring injury. If Turner sits again, Jalen Smith and Isaiah Jackson both become strong looks across both DraftKings and FanDuel.
For Minnesota, Karl-Anthony Towns remains out, giving a bump to everyone else on the Timberwolves. Anthony Edwards has been phenomenal with Towns off the court, and expect that to continue in a great matchup against the Pacers. Rudy Gobert has struggled in the two games since Towns has gotten hurt, but foul trouble in the first and an ejection in the second game easily explains those struggles. Matched up with an Indiana front court that ranks dead last in the NBA against opposing centers, Gobert is in a great spot to breakout.
