The NBA DFS Big Board is a one-stop shop for building your lineups. It gives each player on the slate a Points Rating, Value Rating and Leverage Rating on a scale from 1 to 100, which allows you to easily decipher some of the top options on the slate. There was a massive 11-game slate on Wednesday, but things are a bit quieter on Thursday. That means it is going to be tougher to find some low-owned players that are going to differentiate your lineups. Let’s dive into some of the rookies who are popping in the NBA DFS projections and on the Big Board daily fantasy rankings tonight.
NBA Daily Fantasy Rankings & DFS Projections Today
Giannis Antetokounmpo, PF/C, Milwaukee Bucks
DraftKings Points Rating: 98
FanDuel Points Rating: 98
Antetokounmpo is one of the best players in fantasy, and he is arguably still getting better. He displayed some newfound confidence at the free-throw line in the Bucks’ first game this season, which was one of his biggest weaknesses in the past. He is already one of the best in the business at racking up points and rebounds, so grabbing a few additional points at the line can only help.
The Bucks’ injury situation should also help Antetokounmpo on Thursday. The team was already playing shorthanded — Donte DiVincenzo, Rodney Hood, Semi Ojeleye and Bobby Portis all missed that game — and they are going to be even thinner against the Heat. Jrue Holiday and Brook Lopez have both been ruled out with injuries, and Giannis has averaged 1.74 DraftKings points per minute with both players off the court since the start of last year. Overall, no one on the slate is projected for more fantasy points in Awesemo’s NBA projections.
Jordan Nwora, SF/PF, Milwaukee Bucks
DraftKings Value Rating: 100
FanDuel Value Rating: 98
Giannis will not be the only popular target on the Bucks on Thursday. Nwora currently owns the highest mark in projected ownership for the DraftKings main slate, and he is not far behind on FanDuel. Nwora has a legit offensive game, and he averaged 1.15 DraftKings points per minute last year. He is poised to take on a larger role for the Bucks this season, and their current injury situation will only help. He played 26.5 minutes on opening night, and he could surpass that mark against the Heat. He is simply too strong of a value to pass up.
Clint Capela, C, Atlanta Hawks
DraftKings Leverage Rating: 92
If eating the chalk with some of the Bucks players on Thursday, it will be important to diversify elsewhere. Capela is one possibility. He has an excellent ceiling, scoring at least 60 DraftKings points in five games last year, so he is the type of player who makes a lot of sense as a contrarian target. He also stands out as underpriced at $7,200. He has had a comparable salary in 30 previous games with the Hawks, and he has averaged 38.05 DraftKings points in those contests.
Capela looks great in the NBA player props market as well. He is currently projected for 13.5 rebounds, so the over on his rebound prop grades favorably using the Awesemo Player Prop Tool.
