DeMar DeRozan, SG/F, Chicago Bulls

DraftKings Points Rating: 94 | FanDuel Points Rating: 95

The Bulls returned to action Sunday night following a brief COVID layoff, and they secured a 5-point victory over the Lakers. They played that game without Zach LaVine and a few other role players, and they will be out of the lineup again on Monday. That should allow DeRozan to carry a monster workload. He was brilliant with LaVine out of the lineup on Sunday, finishing with 52.5 DraftKings points thanks to 38 points, four rebounds and six assists. He increased his usage rate to 40.4% in that contest, and he has posted a usage rate of 36.5% with LaVine off the court this season. DeRozan has averaged 1.35 DraftKings points per minute in that situation, so he should be looking at another big performance vs. the Rockets.

Awesemo has DeRozan fourth in terms of points in the NBA projections, but the three players in front of him are all significantly more expensive. DeRozan has a better value score than each on the Big Board, so he is the preferred target among Monday’s studs.

Buddy Hield, SG/SF, Sacramento Kings

DraftKings Value Rating: 95 | FanDuel Value Rating: 97

The Kings are another team playing short-handed at the moment. They will be without De’Aaron Fox, Davion Mitchell and Terence Davis in the backcourt, which opens up some additional playing time for Hield. He racked up 39.5 minutes with all three players out of the lineup on Sunday, and he ultimately finished with 43.75 DraftKings points.

Hield shot the ball exceptionally well in that game – he was 7-for-9 from 3-point range – so he might be due for a bit of regression. However, he has still averaged 0.94 DraftKings points per minute this season, so he is underpriced if he is going to play nearly 40 minutes.

Hield currently has the second-highest ownership projection on DraftKings, but he still stands out as one of the strongest plays on the slate using the Boom/Bust Tool. He has an optimal lineup rate of 39.7%, so he still owns one of the best leverage scores among Monday’s players. He is not quite as positively leveraged on FanDuel, but his optimal lineup rate jumps to 43.3%.

Damion Lee, SG/SF, Golden State Warriors

DraftKings Value Rating: 94 | FanDuel Value Rating: 87

The Warriors will get back Stephen Curry, Draymond Green, Andre Iguodala and Otto Porter Jr. on Monday’s slate, but they are still going to be without Andrew Wiggins and Jordan Poole. Lee is someone who should benefit. Awesemo projects him for 28.4 minutes, which is plenty of playing time given his current salary across the industry.

He should also benefit from the matchup with the Kings. They rank fifth in pace and 29th in defensive efficiency, making them arguably the top matchup in fantasy. The Warriors’ implied team total of 117.25 ranks second on the slate, and Lee is a cheap way to grab some exposure.

Lee does not currently have a scoring prop, but there are other ways to take advantage of the Warriors’ elite matchup. Curry is a bit pricy in DFS, but he has the potential to hit the over on his scoring prop. The Awesemo Player Prop Tool gives him a 54% chance of hitting the over on 32.5 points, so that could be a way to get some exposure to Curry if not looking to roster him.
