Jayson Tatum-Joel Embiid NBA DFS Projections Today

Per Stokastic’s expert DFS projections, Joel Embiid ($11,500 on DraftKings) projects to outscore Jayson Tatum ($11,200) 52.72 to 50.55. The only player with a higher projected total on Stokastic’s NBA DFS projections today is Portland Trail Blazers guard Damian Lillard (53.18 projected points). The ownership projections show Embiid being rostered in 4.5% of DFS lineups, with Tatum being owned in just 1.5% on the main slate.

Tatum has been leading the first-place Celtics all season long, averaging a career-high 30.9 points per game to go along with 8.7 rebounds and 4.5 assists. He has scored over 30 points in five of his last six games and is coming off a monster performance in the 111-99 win over the Detroit Pistons, pouring in 34 points, 11 rebounds and six assists.

For the Celtics, Monday’s win likely got the bad taste from Friday’s ugly loss to the Phoenix Suns out of their mouths, and Tatum was able to snap out of a brief slump, as well. The Celtics star continued to shoot poorly in the first half (going just 3-for-13 from the field) before going off for 18 points on 7-for-8 shooting in the third quarter.

Embiid has also continued his dominant performance in the first half of the season, asserting himself in the MVP discussion by averaging an NBA-best 34.5 points per game, adding 10.2 rebounds and 4.1 assists. He has a double-double in each of the 76ers’ last six games, going for 31 points and 14 rebounds in the 108-97 loss to the New York Knicks on Sunday.

Embiid and the 76ers will be looking to rebound from the loss on Sunday, and also get back at the Celtics for the 126-117 loss on Opening Night. Expect both Embiid and Tatum to put on a show at the TD Garden Wednesday, but when looking at the NBA DFS projections today, the slight edge goes to the 76ers big man.
