NBA DFS Picks Leverage & Optimizer Plays | Feb. 23
High-End Tier
Luka Doncic ($11,900) has the highest projection on the slate in a great matchup with a Spurs team ranked last in defensive rating and seventh in pace this season. He is projected for 21% ownership, a 34% chance of booming and a 19% chance of being optimal, according to Stokastic’s Boom/Bust Tool.
Nikola Jokic ($11,800) looks like a solid pivot despite a tough matchup with the Cavaliers, as he projects only slightly behind Doncic but gets a significant ownership discount. Jokic is projected for 5.9% ownership, a 26% chance of booming and 9% chance of being optimal.

Mid-Tier
Talen Horton-Tucker ($4,800) is the best point-per-dollar play on the entire slate tonight, with Collin Sexton out for the Jazz. Horton-Tucker has a solid matchup with the high-paced Thunder. He is projected for 54% ownership, a 64% chance of booming and 61% chance of being optimal.
Walker Kessler ($5,700) joins his teammate as one of the top point-per-dollar plays. Kessler is projected for 31% ownership, a 42% chance of booming and a 23% chance of being optimal.
Jakob Poeltl ($5,900) has one of the best leverage scores on the slate and could see a significant increase in playing time now that he’s on the Raptors. Poeltl is projected for just 4% ownership, a 19% chance of booming and 9% chance of being optimal.
Value Tier
Matisse Thybulle ($3,500) is currently one of the top value plays on the slate, but pay attention to the Trail Blazers starting lineup. If Shaedon Sharpe ($3,800) and/or Cam Reddish ($3,600) are starting rather than Thybulle, it will probably be worth pivoting to the starter(s).
James Wiseman ($3,500) played 24 minutes in his first game with the Pistons. Even with a projection of 21 minutes tonight, he grades out as a solid value option. Wiseman is projected for 12% ownership, a 15% chance of booming and 8% chance of being optimal.
These are just some of the top plays of the slate in terms of projection, value and leverage. However, things can change in a hurry on an NBA slate, remember to track the news throughout the day and take advantage of potential late-swap opportunities.
