NBA DFS Value and Advice | March 7
Milwaukee Bucks vs. Orlando Magic
Despite a good matchup, there are no clear priorities from the Milwaukee Bucks for Tuesday’s slate. Giannis Antetokounmpo is always a good play, but there are plenty of high-upside options at lower price tags available. Both Wendell Carter Jr. and Gary Harris are questionable, with Jalen Suggs likely to start and project as a strong value if Harris is out. Moritz Wagner is likely to start if Carter is out and would be a strong value as well. Cole Anthony projects well off the bench.
Washington Wizards vs. Detroit Pistons
Monte Morris is unlikely to play for the Washington Wizards, while Kyle Kuzma is questionable. Delon Wright is a viable value play in Morris’s absence, but there is likely to be a lot of very good guard value on this slate. Bradley Beal, Kristaps Porzingis and Deni Avdija are all secondary plays if Kuzma is in. They all look better if Kuzma is out. Beal, in particular, has gone from about a 27% usage rate with Kuzma in to 35% with him out this season. There are probably going to be strong value plays from the Detroit Pistons, but there is no injury report yet, so it’s not clear who they are.
Charlotte Hornets vs. New York Knicks
The matchup for the Charlotte Hornets is unappealing, with no clear priorities. However, Kelly Oubre Jr., Terry Rozier and Mark Williams are all viable contrarian plays. Mitchell Robinson is one of the best center options for this slate. Jalen Brunson is questionable. If he is in, he is a secondary tournament play, along with R.J. Barrett and Julius Randle. If he is out, Barrett and Randle both look better and Immanuel Quickley becomes one of the best overall plays on the slate.
Philadelphia 76ers vs. Minnesota Timberwolves
There is no injury report yet from the Philadelphia 76ers. Tobias Harris and P.J. Tucker were out yesterday. If they are out again tonight, Jalen McDaniels will be a strong value option, assuming he remains in the starting lineup. James Harden, Joel Embiid and Tyrese Maxey all look good. There are no standouts from the Minnesota Timberwolves, as they are healthy outside of Karl-Anthony Towns and there are a lot of shorthanded teams on this slate.
Golden State Warriors vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
There are no clear priorities from the Golden State Warriors, but Donte DiVincenzo is a decent final piece of a lineup, especially if other value does not open up. Stephen Curry played 32 minutes in his return from injury and offers a high ceiling at virtually no ownership. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander played 37 minutes last game, so he shouldn’t be limited. He is also not getting much ownership and has a very high ceiling. Jalen Williams is questionable. If he is out, it opens up more minutes for some combination of Aaron Wiggins, Isaiah Joe, Dario Saric and/or Ousmane Dieng, but as usual, it will be risky trying to guess which one benefits the most.
Brooklyn Nets vs. Houston Rockets
The Brooklyn Nets are in a great spot against the Houston Rockets, making them a team to target across the board. Nicolas Claxton is one of the best mid-range center plays, while Spencer Dinwiddie offers plenty of assist upside and Cameron Johnson can handle secondary scoring. Mikal Bridges has become the clear No. 1 scoring option for the Nets and offers a high ceiling. Dorian Finney-Smith is a viable value play at his $4,000 DraftKings price tag. As for Houston, Jalen Green, Tari Eason and Alperen Sengun are all viable contrarian plays in large-field tournaments. However, there are no real priorities from Houston.

Utah Jazz vs. Dallas Mavericks
It is difficult to find much value on the Utah Jazz at their elevated salaries. However, Walker Kessler is questionable, which could open up frontcourt value. In a favorable matchup, Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving are good tournament plays. Doncic has been playing well recently, and with an elevated price tag, he could go overlooked.
Memphis Grizzlies vs. Los Angeles Lakers
Without Ja Morant, the Memphis Grizzlies are one of the most appealing teams on the slate. Tyus Jones is one of the best value plays despite being $1,800 more expensive on DraftKings than he was last slate. Desmond Bane, Jaren Jackson Jr. and Dillon Brooks all see an uptick in usage without Morant, while Xavier Tillman has power forward eligibility on DraftKings and should get plenty of minutes with Steven Adams and Brandon Clarke both sidelined. Jackson also benefits from Clarke’s absence because he gets backup center minutes. On the other side, Anthony Davis is the only priority from the Lakers, and he is likely to be the most popular pay-up option tonight. However, D’Angelo Russell is questionable and could offer upside at $6,300 on DraftKings if he is able to play. If he is out, Malik Beasley and Dennis Schroder will look better, though their salaries have increased.
