Dream11 NBA Picks: Awesemo Grades | March 24

PG Fred VanVleet –  17 Credits, 42.63 Projected Fantasy Points

I saw VanVleet projected for 41 minutes again and he stuck out like a sore thumb. In fact, the Raptors’ leading scorer (20.1 points per game) has played 41 minutes in each of his last three games. VanVleet has been making the most of those minutes, posting at least 40 fantasy points in all three of those instances.

Tonight’s matchup against the Nuggets is considerably better considering it will be Denver’s second game in as many days. This should be a fun back-and-forth matchup with Jamal Murray, who is also one of the best point guards in the NBA. There is a narrow 2-point spread in favor of Denver tonight, so that should get some extra fantasy points down the stretch for VanVleet.

Also consider: De’Aaron Fox – 16.5 Credits, 42.67 Projected Fantasy Points | Trae Young – 19.5 Credits, 41.79 Projected Fantasy Points

PF Domantas Sabonis – 19 Credits, 43.60 Projected Fantasy Points

Sabonis checks in as one of the sneakier plays on the entire slate. A lot of people may not be intrigued by this matchup between the Pistons and Pacers, but we can find our footing and dig in from there. The Pistons aren’t the rollover team that everyone thinks they are, with exceptional against-the-spread records in numerous scenarios. That should keep the game close, and that’s where Sabonis can really shoot up the leaderboards.

Detroit allows the third-most fantasy points to opposing power forwards and eighth most to centers — both positions Sabonis players. Since joining the Pacers a few years ago, Sabonis is averaging 18.1 points (57.3% shooting), 10.6 rebounds and 3.0 assists in 12 games against the Pistons. In his last meeting against Detroit, Sabonis went ballistic with 26 points, 8 rebounds, 8 assists, 3 steals and 2 blocks. Prior to that Sabonis had six straight games against the Pistons with at least 15 points and 12 rebounds.

C Nicolas Claxton – 4.5 Credits, 29.60 Credits

The center position is always loaded on an 11-game slate, and tonight is no exception. Below you will see a list of other options that are exception plays, but there’s one guy that stands out above the rest. I have talked about Claxton in recent articles, and it’s amazing to witness his journey in the NBA. And now he is atop Awesemo’s value projections on a nightly basis.

Brooklyn will be playing its second game in as many nights, and this will undoubtedly be a tough matchup in the NBA city with the second-highest altitude. It is highly unlikely that we’ll see Blake Griffin play his second game in as many nights, allowing Claxton to see more time on the floor. Claxton is developing a synergetic relationship with James Harden, as he has regularly been on the receiving end of Harden alley-oops.

Because the Jazz are a lengthy team, I would expect to see quite a bit of Claxton tonight. He has caught the eye of Nets head coach Steve Nash finally. Claxton has now played 40 of the last 48 possible fourth-quarter minutes. We may be seeing a changing of the guard (or rather, center) in Brooklyn.

Also consider: Christian Wood – 10 Credits, 40.24 Projected Fantasy Points | Richaun Holmes – 11.5 Credits, 39.79 Projected Fantasy Points | Jarrett Allen – 10 Credits, 39.12 Projected Fantasy Points | Moses Brown – 5 Credits, 31.32
