High-Upside NBA Daily Fantasy Picks for DraftKings & FanDuel Lineups Tonight | 4/1/22

Friday night delivers a huge 10-game NBA slate that is filled with appealing value plays and studs to consider. As always, be sure to watch the Awesemo NBA Starting Lineups page closely for updates on each team before making NBA picks today. Here are some NBA daily fantasy basketball picks that stand out for tonight’s slate using Awesemo’s NBA DFS Boom/Bust Tool and NBA DFS projections.

Boom/Bust NBA Daily Fantasy Projections & Picks Today

Boom: Brandon Clarke: $4,400 DraftKings/$4,000 FanDuel

62% DraftKings Boom/61% FanDuel Boom

Tonight the Grizzlies are one of the best sources of value for this full slate. Ja Morant (knee) has been ruled out, while Desmond Bane (ankle), Jaren Jackson Jr. (thigh), Steven Adams (calf) and Tyus Jones (hand) are all listed as doubtful and not expected to play. Clarke should enter the starting lineup in this situation and see roughly 30 minutes of work tonight against the Suns, making him an extremely tough fade at his low salary. Albeit a limited sample of 53 minutes, Clarke’s usage rises 10.0 percentage points to a strong 28.4% with those four players off the floor this season, resulting in 1.24 DraftKings points per minute. Furthermore, Clarke has been terrific in the 13 games in which he has logged at least 25 minutes this season, with 30 DraftKings points per game.

Regardless of this being a less than ideal spot against a Suns’ defense that ranks third in efficiency, Clarke should destroy his low price tags on both DraftKings and FanDuel tonight with a minimum of 30 fantasy points. For both sites, Clarke sits atop Awesemo’s NBA Daily Fantasy Boom Bust Tool with the highest boom score on the slate.

Boom: Jordan Nwora: $3,000 DraftKings/$3,500 FanDuel

41% DraftKings Boom/25% FanDuel Boom

Priced at the minimum on both DraftKings and FanDuel, Nwora is an elite punt tonight with the Bucks understaffed. Giannis Antetokounmpo (knee), Khris Middleton (wrist), Jrue Holiday (ankle) and Brook Lopez (conditioning) have been ruled out. While Milwaukee listed these players with injuries, they are clearly out for rest purposes, given that this is the second night of a back-to-back. Despite being available, veterans George Hill and Wesley Matthews should not see much action tonight against the Clippers and a younger player like Nwora should handle a majority of the minutes, starter or not.

In the lone game this season that the Bucks were without Antetokounmpo, Middleton, Holiday and Lopez back on December 18th, Nwora started and exploded for 49.8 DraftKings points in a whopping 42 minutes. With those four players off the floor this season, Nwora leads Milwaukee with a 27.8% usage rate and contributes 0.94 DraftKings points per minute in a sample size of 268 minutes. As for his matchup, this Clippers squad Nwora is facing is also depleted. They will be resting four of their starters and will be down to the league-minimum eight players. Los Angeles should be extremely susceptible on the defensive end and Nwora is a legitimate threat to exceed 10-times value in this situation.

Boom: LeBron James: $10,900 DraftKings/$11,000 FanDuel

32% DraftKings Boom/35% FanDuel Boom

James (ankle) has missed the last two games but is expected to suit up for tonight’s critical matchup against the Pelicans. Sitting as the No. 11 seed in the West, the Lakers are currently one game outside of making the play-in tournament with only six games remaining in the regular season. Not owning the tiebreaker over either the Spurs or Pelicans, who are the two clubs just ahead of Los Angeles in the standings, makes every game from here on out a must-win for the purple and gold. Not at least making the play-in tournament would be extremely embarrassing for James and despite the recent injury and Anthony Davis (foot) returning, James should put up a huge stat line in this playoff-like atmosphere.

This game’s total is the fourth highest on the board at 230.5 points and New Orleans is only favored by 1.5 points, which is the smallest spread of this 10-game slate. In two matchups, James is averaging 55 DraftKings points per game against the Pelicans this season. Additionally, James is generating 58.4 DraftKings points per game in the 26 games that have presented a total of at least 225 points. With Awesemo projecting James for less than 5% ownership on both DraftKings and FanDuel tonight, he is an incredible target for GPPs.

Boom: Damian Jones: $5,500 DraftKings/$5,300 FanDuel

31% DraftKings Boom/46% FanDuel Boom

After going head-to-head in a game that produced 239 points Wednesday, the Kings and Rockets will match up again Friday for the final time this season. Not only do these two clubs both rank in the bottom three in defensive efficiency, their offenses both rank inside the top seven in pace. As expected, Friday’s rematch carries a huge total of 234 points, which is the second largest on the board. Plus, after winning Wednesday’s meeting by only three points, Sacramento is only favored by 3.5 points this evening. Without question, this is one of the top games of the night to attack, and Jones is once again one of the best ways to gain exposure.

Domantas Sabonis (knee) will remain sidelined and as the Kings’ replacement starting center Wednesday, Jones had the best outing of his career, finishing with 52.3 DraftKings points in 34 minutes. On both DraftKings and FanDuel, Jones’ salaries barely increased after this explosion, and while you cannot expect another fantasy score over 50 fantasy points again, the center should have zero issues beating his current price tags. Plain and simple, a center facing the Rockets is a fantasy cheat code. Their horrendous defense is most vulnerable inside, allowing the most points in the paint by a wide margin this season. 77% of Jones’s shot attempts have come in the paint this year and the Kings’ implied team total is the fifth-highest on the slate at 118.75 points. Jones has a ceiling over 40 fantasy points tonight and is a sharp option for GPPs, with Awesemo projecting him for only around 12% ownership on both DraftKings and FanDuel.
