The Awesemo NBA Starting Lineups page will provide breaking news when starters are announced as well as a full injury report on players who might be missing in action. Below are some NBA daily fantasy options that stand out for tonight’s slate using Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool and NBA DFS projections.

Boom/Bust NBA Daily Fantasy Projections & Picks

Boom: JaVale McGee: $3,700 DraftKings/$4,900 FanDuel

53.9% DraftKings Boom/27.95 FanDuel Boom

Tonight the Suns will be without Deandre Ayton (ankle). Frank Kaminsky (knee) is also still on the shelf and in the four starts McGee has made with two centers inactive this season, he has produced 30.9 DraftKings points in 24.2 minutes per game. McGee is generating 1.4 DraftKings points per minute this season and should handle 20-25 minutes tonight against the Spurs. On top of ranking fifth in pace, San Antonio is yielding the fourth most points in the paint this season. This game carries the second highest total on the slate (227.5 points) and the Suns’ implied team total is the second largest on the board (116 points).

In a sample size of seven games, McGee has generated 33.3 DraftKings points per game when given a minimum of 20 minutes this season and while he is a great target on both sites, McGee is a core play at only $3,700 on DraftKings. By a large gap, the center boasts the highest Boom score and is rating as the No. 1 value on the slate for DraftKings in Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool.

Boom: LeBron James: $10,900 DraftKings/$11,200 FanDuel

36.1% DraftKings Boom/24.6% FanDuel Boom

James’ salary has seen a dramatic $1,000 decrease on DraftKings, bringing him down to a very affordable $10,900. This is the cheapest James has been on the site in nine games and tonight, the superstar will be competing in the highest total on the slate against the Jazz (230.5 points). Utah is playing their second game in two nights and the Lakers’ implied team total is the third highest on the slate (113 points). Anthony Davis (knee) will remain sidelined and James has supplied 61.3 DraftKings points per game with the big man inactive this season. Overall, James scores 1.6 DraftKings points per minute with Davis off the floor this season, which is mostly a product of a 2.6 percentage point increase to his assist rate.

In Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool, James brings the highest ceiling on the slate, and it is not particularly close. Additionally, with the discounted price tag on DraftKings, he sports a top-five Boom score on the slate.

Boom: Keldon Johnson: $5,100 DraftKings/$4,900 FanDuel

23% DraftKings Boom/21.6% FanDuel Boom

At reasonable price points on both sites, Johnson is one of the better mid-tier targets for this five-game slate. Since returning from a three-game absence due to health protocols, the forward has contributed 27.2 DraftKings points per game in his last three. With a career high 20.5% usage rate, Johnson is amassing 0.9 DraftKings points per minute this season and tonight, Awesemo is projecting him for 31.2 minutes against the Suns. Phoenix ranks second in defensive efficiency, but they are on the second leg of a back-to-back and this should be a very up-tempo matchup, with both the Spurs and Suns ranking in the top-10 in pace. This game’s total ranks second on the slate (227 points) and San Antonio’s implied team total is the fourth largest on the board (111.25 points).

In the seven games Johnson has been active for that have presented a total of at least 225 points this season, the 22-year-old has provided 29.2 DraftKings points per game. For both DraftKings and FanDuel, Johnson is rating as a top-10 value on the slate in Awesemo’s projections.

Boom: Cole Anthony: $7,300 DraftKings/$7,500 FanDuel

24.4% DraftKings Boom/13.2% FanDuel Boom

Anthony’s salaries have dropped on both DraftKings and FanDuel, and tonight, he meets a Blazers’ defense that ranks dead last in efficiency. Wendell Carter Jr. (hamstring) will be unavailable and Anthony has collected 35.75 DraftKings points per game with the center absent this season. In this beautiful spot against Portland, Anthony’s props are set at 18.5 points, 6.5 rebounds and 5.5 assists on BetMGM, which is already 33 DraftKings points before defensive stats and bonuses are credited.

Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool is giving Anthony a ceiling north of 40 fantasy points tonight and is this an excellent time to buy low on the guard.
