Boom/Bust NBA Fantasy Projections | April 9
NBA DraftKings + FanDuel Boom CandidatesÂ
Stephen Curry vs. Wizards: $9,900/$9,600
25.4% DraftKings Boom/34.7% FanDuel Boom
Curry has been the Warriors’ offense as of late. He has averaged 36.5 points over his past four games. Facing the Wizards, another bad team, the game should be competitive to the very end. This is good news for Curry, who is essentially a lock to hit value if he plays 36 minutes. The key for him to be a boom play tonight is him adding some defensive stats. He has had zero steals in two of his last three games. Luckily for him, he faces Russell Westbrook, the turnover machine, tonight. Westbrook has averaged five turnovers per game, so hopefully Curry can grab a couple of them.
Russell Westbrook vs. Warriors: $11,000/$11,200
28.1% DraftKings Boom/30.4% FanDuel Boom
Despite all of the turnovers, Westbrook is still another terrific play in this Wizards – Warriors game. He has scored at least 22 points in five of his last six games. Westbrook also has a triple-double in six of his last seven games. As stated above, Curry has been the Warriors’ entire offense essentially, meaning he may need to rest on the defensive end. This could lead to weak defense on Westbrook. The Wizards are also likely to have Bradley Beal playing again tonight, which is only a good thing for Westbrook’s assist total.

Nikola Jokic vs. Spurs: $10,500/$10,100
20.9% DraftKings Boom/35.1% FanDuel Boom
Jokic’s price has come down, which seems like the perfect time to play him, especially on FanDuel. The Nuggets play the Spurs for the second game in a row, so there won’t be any surprises for Jokic. He played just 30 minutes last game, finishing with a 25-point, 10-assist double-double. Jokic was one rebound shy of a triple-double. Expect him to be aggressive again tonight, but add more defensive stats. If he does get a triple-double, which is always within reach, he will likely be a boom play.
NBA DraftKings + FanDuel Bust Candidates
D’Angelo Russell vs. Celtics: $6,300/$6,300
92.3% DraftKings Bust/87.5% FanDuel Bust
This will be Russell’s third game back from injury. While he has been playing well, the Timberwolves have opted to bring him off the bench. On top of that, he played only 24 minutes in each game. While they certainly could increase his role tonight, there hasn’t been any indication that they will. Playing just 24 minutes off the bench, Russell’s price is still too high to play him in this current role.
