SG Spencer Dinwiddie — Grades: A, B | Values: A, A

The only player with an A grade and A value on DraftKings in Awesemo’s Fantasy Basketball Rankings tonight is Spencer Dinwiddie. The newly acquired Mavericks guard has been coming off the bench lately but will more than likely move to the starting lineup with the absence of Luka Doncic. Dinwiddie has played one game without Doncic and scored 36 points on 11-for-22 from the field while dishing out seven assists. He also had a ridiculous 41.4% usage rate. Awesemo projects Dinwiddie to be the second-best value on DraftKings.

The Mavericks get the luxury of hosting the Rockets as they are double-digit favorites implied to score 115.5 points. The Rockets continue to allow a league-high 118.2 points per game and rank last in defensive rating. This is also a major pace increase for the Mavericks, as they rank last in pace, while the Rockets rank second. Dinwiddie will thrive in this game environment. He leads the slate in Awesemo’s NBA DFS ownership projections for DraftKings, but his teammate Jalen Brunson is the preferred option on FanDuel. They are both great options.

PG Davion Mitchell — Grades: B, B | Values: A, A

Another point guard who is in a great spot due to his teammate likely being out is Davion Mitchell. De’Aaron Fox is doubtful tonight after missing the Kings’ last two games. Mitchell has a mixed bag of results over the last two games. In his first game without Fox, he shot 5-for-14 from the field and scored 12 points but had more turnovers than assists and rebounds. He finished with a disappointing 18.75 DraftKings points. In his most recent game, Mitchell had 28 points, nine assists and 46.75 DraftKings points in 46 minutes.

Mitchell remains too cheap on both DraftKings and FanDuel, as he has the fourth-highest boom percentage on both sites in Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool. The Kings’ matchup against the Pacers features the third-highest total on the slate at 235 points. The Pacers rank 26th in defensive rating, allowing 113.2 points per game. Mitchell also has a teammate who will be very popular in Damian Jones. Awesemo NBA projections have Jones to be the best value on DraftKings, while Mitchell is the third best on FanDuel. C Joel Embiid — Grades: A, A | Values: B, A

Picking the best pay-up option on the slate was rather easy after diving into Awesemo’s tools. The NBA Fantasy projections have Joel Embiid with by far the most fantasy points of anyone tonight on both sites. Dejounte Murray is close behind, but Embiid is the best option in the upper pricing tier. He gets a showdown against LeBron James, while they are the top two leaders in points per game this season. Embiid is averaging a career-high in points, field goal attempts and free throw attempts per game. He is second in the league in usage rate with 36.8%.

The Lakers present a fantastic matchup for Embiid, especially without Anthony Davis. They have allowed the fourth-most points in the paint and rebounds per game. Embiid is a near-lock to double-double and has incredible upside. He should feast against this Lakers frontcourt. He leads everyone in his pricing tier with the highest boom percentage on both sites according to Awesemo’s NBA DFS Boom/Bust Tool. The pace will likely be dictated by Embiid, but it is nice knowing that the Lakers play at the sixth-fastest pace in the league.

PG Tyus Jones — Grades: B, B | Values: A, A

As you can tell, this slate is absolutely loaded with value guards, which is why Embiid is the top pay-up option on the slate. The Grizzlies will be without Ja Morant tonight, which will move Tyus Jones back into the starting lineup. Jones has been fantastic in his last two starts without Morant. In those games, he is averaging 10.5 points, nine assists and 30.1 DraftKings points per game. For a bigger sample size, in 16 games without Morant this season Jones is averaging 11.9 points, 6.6 assists and 28.4 DraftKings points per game.

Awesemo NBA projections have Jones to be in the top three of value plays on both DraftKings and FanDuel, which is saying a lot seeing as though there are so many fantastic guard options. Despite playing without Morant, the Grizzlies are only two-point underdogs playing at home against the Nets. That is surprising since Kyrie Irving is able to play. This game has the highest total on the slate at 238 points and this will be very entertaining to watch. Jones is also top four in Awesemo’s NBA DFS ownership projections on both sites. Play the value guards and Embiid.
