Expert NBA Fantasy Rankings & DFS Value Plays Today for DraftKings & FanDuel | 4/5/22

It is the last week of the NBA regular season and tonight offers a massive 12-game slate filled with ridiculously high totals. For example, the Nets lead the slate with a 131 implied total, which is the highest in a really long time. With so many games, it will be extremely important to monitor the news on Awesemo’s NBA Starting Lineups page to see who is in and out of the lineup tonight. These four plays below are driven by Awesemo’s Fantasy Basketball Rankings. Let’s finish the year off strong heading into the playoffs!

DraftKings & FanDuel NBA Fantasy Basketball Rankings

*Grades are ordered DraftKings, FanDuel. The initial grade indicates a player’s strength of output, with the value grade indicating their strength as a play in relation to their salary.

PG Tre Jones — Grades: B, B | Values: A, A

With Dejounte Murray already ruled out for the third-straight game with an illness, Tre Jones will stay in the starting lineup for another game. Jones has started the last two games and has averaged 13.5 points, eight assists and 6.5 rebounds per game while shooting 57.9% from the field. During that time he is averaging 1.1 DraftKings points per minute while playing a total of 67 minutes. Awesemo projects Jones to be the best value on both sides as he also has the highest boom percentage in Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool for each site.

The Spurs played the Trail Blazers in back-to-back games that Jones thrived in. Tonight will be a little different against the Nuggets, as the Spurs are nine-point road underdogs. Despite the tougher matchup, the salary on Jones remains far too cheap for the minutes and upside that he brings. He is coming in over 67% in Awesemo’s ownership projections for both DraftKings and FanDuel. The next closest player is barely over 30%. Jones is a lock for cash games and is an incredible salary saver for tournaments as well.

C Nikola Jokic — Grades: A, A | Values: B, A

The center position is once again absolutely loaded on this slate. Nikola Jokic, Joel Embiid and Karl-Anthony Towns are all in great spots tonight. However, the player at the top in Awesemo’s NBA projections is Jokic, which should come as no surprise. He is the only player above $10,000 who has a positive value on DraftKings. Jokic has posted 70 or more DraftKings points in five-straight games! Over that time, he is averaging 34.8 points, 16.2 rebounds, 8.4 assists and two steals per game while shooting an absurd 70.2% from the field.

The Spurs do not pose much of a threat with their interior defense, as they allow 50.3 points per game in the paint, which is the fifth highest in the league. Jokic will live in the paint, as he has not made a 3-pointer in those five games and has only attempted six total. With his recent play, Jokic has basically locked up the MVP award for the second consecutive season. Prioritize Jokic on DraftKings where he comes in fifth in boom percentage in Awesemo’s NBA DFS Boom/Bust Tool, behind four players who are all priced below $5,000.

C Moses Brown — Grades: B, B | Values: A, A

Moses Brown feels like he is designated for DraftKings with so many great centers at the top of the pricing tier. However, Brown is another salary saver on this slate, as he comes in with the third-highest boom percentage in Awesemo’s Boom/Bust Tool for both DraftKings and FanDuel. With Evan Mobley and Jarrett Allen still out, Brown will remain in the starting lineup. Brown is also coming in third for both sites for value in Awesemo’s daily projections, but his ownership is low, making him a great leverage play.

Over the last four games, Brown is averaging a double-double with 13 points and 11.8 rebounds per game while shooting 66.7% from the field. The only game he shot lower than 70% was against the 76ers and Joel Embiid. In that game, he only played 20 minutes, which was the lowest he played during that four-game stretch. This matchup against the Magic features the lowest total on the slate at 218.5 points, as the Magic are tied for the worst record in the league. Pair Brown and Jones for a stars and scrubs lineup build.

SG Donovan Mitchell — Grades: A, A | Values: B, A

There are seven players with an A Grade and A Value in Awesemo’s Fantasy Basketball Rankings on FanDuel tonight. One is Jokic, but the best option in the rankings is Donovan Mitchell. He has proven to be one of the most consistent players this season and feels like a great value. He has scored 25 or more points in 10 of his last 11 games. He also ranks fifth in usage rate and sixth in field goal attempts per game. Mitchell provides a way to get different, as he ranks outside the top 20 in Awesemo’s NBA Fantasy ownership rankings on DraftKings.

The Jazz have been struggling lately, losing six of their last seven games, and only leading the Timberwolves by 1.5 games as they try to hold on to the sixth seed in the Western Conference to avoid the play-in tournament. The Jazz are 5.5-point favorites against the Grizzlies, who are still without Ja Morant, as they have already locked up the second seed for the playoffs. Do not sleep on the Grizzlies though, as they are an impressive 20-2 without Morant this season. Mitchell will be heavily involved in this spot and has a very high upside.
