As the PGA Tour season heads towards its second major, it has a quick stop at the AT&T Byron Nelson before the much-awaited PGA Championship. While the Byron Nelson field may not boast the same level of pedigree as the upcoming major, it still presents an exciting opportunity to analyze and strategize for PGA DFS. With a significant amount of money up for grabs and a lack of top firepower, the chances of a first-time winner emerging are quite high. Given the abundance of options, PGA DFS lineups can go in several directions, but there are a few players to strongly consider this week.

While the previous weeks have seen a focus on the top-end players like Tony Finau and Xander Schauffele, this field looks vastly different, with Scottie Scheffler being a significant favorite relative to everyone else. While Scheffler is a valid option, Kim offers a more balanced approach, making him a preferable first click.
Kim’s recent performance, which saw him finish 23rd last week and gain nine strokes tee to green, is quite respectable. However, it was his putting that let him down. Nonetheless, he has already proven that he can get hot with the flat stick, as he gained a combined 18 strokes putting in his two wins at the Shriners and the Wyndham. The easy setup this week and a change of surface could be the exact formula Kim needs to get in the mix.

Christiaan Bezuidenhout — $8,000
There is no reason a mid-range player couldn’t win this tournament. Bezuidenhout, who is currently projecting around 12% ownership, seems undervalued in this spot. His recent form is encouraging, with three straight top-30 finishes, including a 13th place at THE PLAYERS.
Bezuidenhout’s strokes gained metrics align with the layout of the course, which rewards pure ball striking and the ability to convert birdie chances. He has gained over two strokes with both his irons and putter in each of his last three tournaments, indicating that he is giving himself chances and converting them on the greens. He is a dark-horse winner and one of the best plays of the week given how wide open the field is.
Going balanced this week presents the benefit of landing in the mid- to lower-$7,000 range instead of dipping into the $6,000s, which is full of risky plays. While these mid-range players have their issues, many of them are more suited to compete in this field. Stevens is looking like a potential popular play, but he still deserves a lot of looks.
Stevens burst onto the scene last month, finishing third at Corales, followed by a runner-up position at Valero in a field strength similar to this one. He is strong tee to green, and finding timely putting is essential for him to tap into his top-end outcomes. With some potential for nasty weather, Stevens’ tee-to-green abilities become even more critical, justifying his roster spot in all different types of builds. He is a key mid-range target for the week.
