The NBA has a solid array of games on the board for Friday, Mar. 3. With basketball action popping, NBA DFS players can easily miss out on the board’s top options. There are always plenty of injuries and NBA DFS value plays to consider on every day. NBA DFS Value and Advice | March 3
Orlando Magic vs. Charlotte Hornets
NBA DFS players have plenty to like in this game. Markelle Fultz, Wendell Carter Jr. and Paolo Banchero all solid midrange options. Cole Anthony and Jalen Suggs offer inexpensive upside. Terry Rozier and Kelly Oubre Jr. are priorities from Charlotte. Mark Williams, Gordon Hayward and Dennis Smith Jr. make for solid secondary tournament plays as well.
Portland Trail Blazers vs. Atlanta Hawks
With Anfernee Simons doubtful for Portland, Damian Lillard is a strong pay-up option. Jerami Grant is a secondary option as Portland’s only other effective scoring option behind Lillard. Drew Eubanks, Trendon Watford, Matisse Thybulle and Cam Reddish all have upside at their salaries but are risky plays. Trae Young is probable and is reasonably priced, making him a strong option in the upper midrange. Clint Capela is one of the most interesting plays on the slate. His inexpensive price tag and the fact he played 35 minutes in his first game with Quin Snyder at the helm coach both point to value.
Brooklyn Nets vs. Boston Celtics
No priorities from either side. Cameron Johnson is the most underpriced option on the Brooklyn Nets. Any of Johnson, Nicolas Claxton, Spencer Dinwiddie or Mikal Bridges are secondary plays. Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are always fine but neither stands out tonight. Robert Williams III offers upside as a contrarian option.
New York Knicks vs. Miami HeatÂ
This is the slate’s least appealing game. Jimmy Butler is questionable for Miami. If he sits, Bam Adebayo, Tyler Herro, Caleb Martin, Max Strus and Victor Oladipo all look better but still would only be secondary plays. Julius Randle, Jalen Brunson and Mitchell Robinson are always fine in tournaments, but they’re not high-value options for this game.
Utah Jazz vs. Oklahoma City Thunder
No Jordan Clarkson again for Utah. Kris Dunn is pulling a lot of ownership, but I don’t really understand why. If he comes off the bench again, I’m not interested in him at his increased salary. Lauri Markkanen stands out at $8,600 on FanDuel. With Shai Gilgeous-Alexander out for Oklahoma City, Josh Giddey, Lu Dort and Jalen Williams all should benefit, but their price tags have also increased. Isaiah Joe, Dario Saric, Jaylin Williams and Aaron Wiggins are all reasonable dart throws in GPPs since we have no idea what the rotation will look like in any given game.

Phoenix Suns vs. Chicago Bulls
No priorities. Expect increased efficiency on fewer opportunities from Devin Booker going forward, making him a high-upside GPP play but tough to trust game-to-game. DeMar DeRozan, Nikola Vucevic and Zach LaVine are always playable but don’t stand out tonight.
Memphis Grizzlies vs. Denver Nuggets
Ja Morant is the top option for Memphis. Desmond Bane and Jaren Jackson Jr. offer low-owned tournament upside. Nikola Jokic is the top option for Denver but Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. both make for reasonable contrarian plays.
Los Angeles Clippers vs. Sacramento Kings
I have no idea who is playing for the Clippers yet. Assuming Paul George plays, he looks great without Kawhi Leonard. Russell Westbrook looks good and even better if George rests. A few other plays could potentially open up once we have an injury report. Even with De’Aaron Fox questionable for Sacramento, nothing stands out for the Kings. Kevin Huerter and Harrison Barnes would look like better NBA DFS value options if Fox sits.
New Orleans Pelicans vs. Golden State Warriors
Jonas Valanciunas is doubtful. Whichever of Willy Hernangomez or Jaxson Hayes starts will offer plenty of value. Whoever comes off the bench is a high-risk, high-reward contrarian play. It’s likely that the Pelicans will close with a small lineup, which increases the upside for wings like Naji Marshall, Herbert Jones, Trey Murphy III and Josh Richardson. Brandon Ingram looks good without Valanciunas or Zion Williamson, and C.J. McCollum has a high ceiling as well. No priorities for Golden State, but there is plenty of upside for Klay Thompson and Jordan Poole. Donte DiVincenzo, Draymond Green and Kevon Looney are all solid secondary plays as well.
Los Angeles Lakers vs. Minnesota Timberwolves
Anthony Davis is the top pay-up option on the slate without LeBron James or D’Angelo Russell. Malik Beasley and Dennis Schroder are both strong value options. Anthony Edwards has a high ceiling in this matchup but it’s difficult to prioritize him on this slate. Rudy Gobert has seen increased production since Mike Conley Jr. replaced Russell, but his salary has already ticked up.
